A normal(?) wedding at last.
The shock from the Kurarin Seven-Split Incident and the Tsu-turned-WMD Incident was so intense, even I didn't know what to do. But my mother was strong.
"Okay, okay, Rosarin-chan. Welcome back. Your wedding with Dirk isn’t over yet, remember?"
"Ah, right."
Kaasama clapped her hands, and finally, my consciousness returned to this painful reality. I can't run away. I can’t run away. I can’t run away. I can’t run away. Tsu-san turned out like that because Rinka is rotten inside. Our Valkyrie was proper moe-style, wasn’t she! Kurarin got split into seven because she's Kurarin, so it can’t be helped!! Okay, I’m back!!
"Kurarin, if you interrupt the wedding, you're getting whacked."
"Kurarin is sorry. Kurarin will quietly attend with Rinka."
I wish you’d done that from the beginning.
"Then, father, if you please."
This time, the priest was the man from Rosenberg who had been running something like an orphanage. He used his personal fortune to raise children. Now that his orphanage has merged with Ravioli’s, he helps out while still serving as a priest. His patron deity is Shiva. I wanted to say that guy’s a super half-assed god, but I held back.
After all, being able to grasp this future is also thanks to Shiva, who kept resisting all along.
I decided to walk forward with Dirk, to a future even Rosalia doesn't know.
"Shall we go, Rosarin?"
"Yeah."
Escorted by Dirk, I stood at the altar.
"Groom, Dirk Burton. Do you swear to love and cherish this woman for the rest of your life, in sickness and in health?"
"I do."
"Bride, Rosarin Rosenberg. Do you swear to love and cherish this man for the rest of your life, in sickness and in health?"
"I do."
I'm already Rosarin Burton now, so being called Rosenberg feels strange. But that makes me kind of happy.
"Then, the vow of the kiss."
Dirk gently lifted my veil and kissed me. Cheers erupted.
"Here now stands a newlywed couple. Being of different races, hardships may await. But I believe they will overcome even those. I, too, have been saved by them. There are no boundaries between beastmen and humans! Blessings upon them both!"
The gods, perhaps showing some restraint, only sent down white feathers.
"Oh... even the gods are blessing them."
"... I hope Poppo-chan isn’t going bald from the stress of his troublesome superiors..."
"Nnff... s-stop it. That just ruins the holy atmosphere way too fast... and we’re not supposed to laugh at a moment like this, please have mercy!"
That "nnff" was cute. But I did feel bad, so I apologized honestly.
"Sorry. It just slipped out… With so many feathers, I thought maybe Poppo-chan got plucked?"
"... Rosarin, should we prepare some feather-growing medicine or stomach medicine?"
"........................ Yeah."
It was supposed to be a moving, mystical moment for everyone, but I ended up dampening the mood. After praying for Poppo-chan's safety, I heard a voice.
"I see. Well, I’ll pray for less burden on you too, Poppo-chan."
[Whenever gods get fired up, nothing good ever comes of it, so I’ll just take the sentiment.]"Yeah… It must be tough having an incompetent boss who also does unnecessary stuff. Next time I see him, I’ll beat him up for you."
[Please do.]That was a fast reply. Is Poppo-chan irritated?
"... I’ll really make sure to give him a good one."
[Please do. That damned god got into a fight with another god the moment I took my eyes off him and mass-produced hero weapons in another world… He even triggered a proxy war between the gods, which he kept hidden until just recently. And on top of that...]Yeah, this is gonna be a long story. Still, what a hopeless god. I’ll definitely give him a proper beatdown next time. Maybe even throw in some Kabaddi.
But at least those feathers weren’t Poppo-chan’s.
"Dirk, Poppo-chan’s not bald."
"That’s a relief. Then, let’s go."
"Yeah."
Dirk escorted me back down the aisle.
"Okay, everyone! Let’s do this!"
At my brother’s signal, the capture target members stepped forward—no, even Milfi and Cedar-kun were here.
"I’ll go first!"
When Adeil waved his hand, the soil under the aisle rose up in soft mounds.
"Next, me!"
Hugh shaped the soil with wind magic and scattered something across it.
"Cedar-kun!"
"Yeah!"
Responding to my brother’s call, Cedar-kun used magic with Hugh to make the scattered seeds sprout at once, forming a green arch.
"Alphage-sama!"
"Leave it to me."
Milfi created mist, and Alphage-sama shaped the moisture into numerous water spheres.
"Aldin-sama!"
"Yeah!"
Ernst used dark magic to blot out the surrounding light, and Aldin-sama lit up each water sphere with light magic, creating a fantastical scene.
"Alright, the final touch!"
"“Got it!”"
They drew on the mana of Jend and Jash, and flowers bloomed from the grassy arch. While Aldin-sama's magic light was golden, the light of the flowers was silver.
"Wow.."
(Congratulations, Rosarin.)
With everyone’s blessings, a smile came to my face naturally. I slowly walked down the beautiful virgin road, feeling a happiness so intense, it was almost scary.
