Rosarin Quest
A certain royal’s Point of View

Rosarin-sama and her party returned triumphantly while transporting meat. The sight of the silver giant knight carrying a massive amount of meat was surreal, but I had grown accustomed to it. At this point, I thought nothing could surprise me anymore.

At the entrance gate to the castle town, a crowd had gathered… something seemed off.

Rosarin-sama swiftly set down the meat and evacuated her companions onto the shoulders of the silver giant knight.

"Meaaaat!!"

"Hand over the meaaat!!"

"Meat, meat, meat, meat, meat!!"

"Whoaaa!?"

A poor knight was taken down. The culprit… the culprit was…

OBATYAAAN☆

A flashy caption appeared, decorated with fancy stars, highlighting the demon-like women responsible for the chaos. I had thought nothing could surprise me anymore, but apparently, some of Wolfanea’s citizens had turned into rioters in their desperate pursuit of meat. What the hell are we supposed to do about this?!

The knights, already exhausted, were unable to act as a deterrent, and the meat was being stolen right before our eyes.

Were we really about to suffer defeat at the hands of Wolfanea’s women?! Dirk-sama, in a panic, turned to Rosarin-sama.

"Rosarin! Aren’t you going to stop them?!"

"I don’t want to harm women… and honestly, I’m scared. I don’t think I can win against that level of intensity."

Even Rosarin-sama, as formidable as she was, didn't believe she could stand against those ferocious women. I couldn’t, either. What the hell do we do!?

"… Rosarin-chan, got any bright ideas?"

"Hmm? Alright. I’ve got one. Haru, amplify my voice."

"You got it!"

Rosarin-sama’s voice echoed throughout the area. Hal displayed as a wind-affinity spirit… Wait, does this mean Rosarin-sama has the blessing of two attributes?! That’s incredible…

"Everyone, thank you for gathering. We will be transporting a large amount of meat. It would be a shame if it spoiled, so we would like to hire ladies to process it. In exchange, we will give 20% of the processed meat as compensation. What do you say?"

The women immediately began processing the meat. The riot was quelled in an instant by Rosarin-sama’s quick thinking.

Had the general populace overwhelmed the knights, it would have caused serious problems moving forward.

"Considering the sheer amount, this actually worked out well. Let’s move quickly. We won’t be able to process it all, so we’ll distribute the rest to the royal capital and neighboring villages and hold a grand meat festival!"

Rosarin-sama intended to generously distribute meat to the people of Wolfanea. What a compassionate young lady. She truly possessed the qualities befitting a saint.

The people of Wolfanea responded enthusiastically.

"Ooooooh!"

"Long live the Saintess!"

"Long live the meat festival!"

"Meat! Meat! Meat!"

The Wolfanea knights were cheering wildly, while the Christia knights and adventurers struggled to keep up with the energy.

Was Wolfanea’s food shortage really that severe? When I later investigated, I found the situation was far worse than I had imagined. Given the circumstances, it was only natural that Rosarin, who so freely provided meat, was revered as a saintess.

Rosarin-sama and her party tirelessly transported meat. Beasts, spirits, crystal dragons, and the silver giant knight—all of them silently carrying loads of meat. It was an unbelievable sight.

As Rosarin-sama observed the scene, she pulled out a communication device and made a call.

"This is Rosarin. We have a problem."

"This is Alphage… What exactly are you doing at the castle gate?"

"The hungry mothers turned into Amazons in order to feed their starving children, and they attacked Wolfanean’s knights."

A very accurate summary. Those women were indeed mothers turned Amazons.

"What the hell is going on in Wolfanea?!"

Prince Alphage shouted upon hearing the report. I couldn’t blame him.

"I feel the same way."

"My apologies… It must be due to the prolonged food shortages…"

Prince Juties sounded genuinely remorseful.

"At this rate, the women will become full-blown rioters (not that they weren’t already), so I made a quick decision to have them process the meat in exchange for a portion of it. The meat will be preserved, and the people will receive food. It’s a win-win!"

"… Rosarin, how does your mind even work? That’s not the kind of solution a duke’s daughter should come up with."

Fair point.

"Eh? You think so? By the way, since we’re at it, I want vegetables too. Is my brother nearby? I was thinking of mass-producing vegetables with him."

"What exactly are you planning?"

Apparently, Rosarin-sama’s brother was near Prince Alphage, and the call was handed over.

"I’m going to produce a ton of the vegetables I hate. According to Haku, this land is suitable for it."

"I see."

Vegetables Rosarin-sama hates? Why deliberately grow vegetables she dislikes?

"I’ll send Kou to pick you up. Meet us at Yggdrasil."

"Got it."

Rosarin-sama returned to Yggdrasil. Soon, her brother arrived, riding on a dragon.

His display read "Rupert, Rosarin’s brother", while the dragon bore the name "Kou, Rosarin’s fire-affinity half-dragon spirit". I had no idea where to even begin questioning this! She had a dragon spirit’s blessing… and three affinities?! That’s insane!!

Where does reality end and fiction begin?! I had completely lost the ability to tell.

"Alright, let’s do this."

"Here we go, Valkyrie."

"Rosariiin!!"

Rosarin-sama grimaced, clearly annoyed at having her name shouted. As magic surged, vegetables sprouted rapidly from the seeds Rupert-sama scattered. They continued multiplying by using the newly grown vegetables as seeds.

How much magic power did it take to pull off something this absurd? Could she still do this even now?

"This should be enough."

The once barren wasteland had transformed into a sprawling vegetable field.

"I am ready to eat."

"I am delicious."

The vegetables were talking. They were walking around. Were these the same vegetables that had been singing and dancing earlier…?

"Hehehe. You’ve all grown well, my little vegetables. They move on their own, so no need for transport. They take care of themselves, so even lazy people can manage! Plus, they tell you when they’re ready for harvest… truly revolutionary! And yet… why can’t you eat them, Rosarin?"

"Because! I once painstakingly raised a cherry tomato… and when I ate it—it was delicious, but I felt so sad!! I swore I would never eat them again!"

I could understand that. Eating a talking vegetable you personally raised would be tough. It wasn’t that she hated them—she just couldn’t bring herself to eat them.

Rosarin-sama and the vegetables marched back to the castle gate, where they were met with immense popularity. The women of Wolfanea left with bright smiles, carrying processed meat and vegetables. The vegetables, despite being stuffed into nets, happily called out, "I am delicious." For some reason, it made me sad. I didn’t want to eat them, either.

At last, Rosarin-sama finally returned to the castle.

"Everyone, today is the meat festival! Let’s drown in meat juice!!"

"Meaaat! Meaaat!"

"Meattttt!!"

"Meat, meat, meat, meat, meat! All together now, meat, meat, meat!!"

"… Is Wolfanea really going to be okay?"

"Who knows…"

The stark contrast between the Wolfanea knights (currently in a meat frenzy) and the overwhelmed Christia knights and adventurers was striking.

I wanted to believe most of this was an exaggerated tale. In the end, I decided to think of it as just another story.

That being said, considering the talking vegetables, the gathering of crystal dragons, and all the other impossible sights I had witnessed… I couldn’t stop wondering—how much of this was actually real?!
