My adventure.
???’s Point of View

Long ago, I was captured by cruel humans and turned into a "commodity." It seems our species holds great value to humans. "We can make a fortune," the wicked humans would say.

Trapped in a cage, all I could do was watch my kind grow weaker in the harsh conditions. We were given only the bare minimum of food and water to survive. I thought I’d wither away like this, my mind growing duller by the day.

However, I was saved from that inevitable fate by a little girl.

Though the girl and I could not communicate directly, we conversed through a powerful, higher being. The girl set me free, releasing me from my life as a "commodity."

But I couldn’t just leave. I couldn’t return home without repaying this debt of kindness. After discussing it with my kin and conveying our thoughts through the higher being, we expressed our gratitude and desire to help her.

The girl gave us a task—to convince the others still trapped to be freed. We agreed wholeheartedly. Convincing them wasn’t easy, but we succeeded, and the rest of our kind were released.

The girl then told everyone to live freely, as they wished. Such a compassionate, generous soul. I realized then that she was my true lord. Our species pledges loyalty to a lord once we decide on one. Though she initially refused, in the end, the girl accepted me as her subordinate.

Now, this magnificent, kind, and benevolent lord of mine is searching for materials for a dress to wear on a grand occasion. Among the many monster materials out there, the threads our species produce have always been highly valued by humans. The higher the species, the more exquisite the thread. I consulted my comrades and decided to embark on a journey back to our homeland.

With advice from the mighty, fluffy leader of our group, I sought the help of the muscle-brained hero.

“Sure, no problem!”

The muscle-brained hero agreed readily. He, too, would do anything for my lord. Still, I couldn’t help but wonder why he seemed to understand my words, even though our languages were different.

“Instinct!”

Fair enough. I decided not to think too deeply about it. Thanks to him, I arrived at our homeland with surprising ease.

To avoid him being mistaken for one of the cruel humans, I decided to go in alone.

Fortunately, a few childhood friends of mine had evolved into higher species. I asked them if they could spin thread for my lord’s dress.

“If you become my mate.”

“Hahaha, yeah, no.”

I don’t want to leave my Lord’s side, and I know my kind-hearted lord, who cried over the sacrifice of our fluffy leader, would be devastated if I sacrificed myself.

When I told them this wasn’t an option, they attacked me. But having witnessed far more fearsome alongside my Lord, a few higher species were no real threat.

I compressed water to its limits, creating high-pressure spheres, and accurately shot their joints, rendering them immobile. My comrades would probably heal them later.

“I have no need for weak males like you!”

Honestly, compared to my Lord’s greatness and strength, these higher species seemed like nothing but trash.

As I stormed out of the forest in anger, other kin came to thank me. Apparently, the higher species had been using their evolved status to act as they pleased, causing trouble for everyone.

Still, what should I do now? I hadn’t acquired any thread.

Dejected, I walked to the meeting point with the muscle-brained hero.

“What’s wrong?”

The muscle-brained hero was grilling meat. He shared some with me. This muscle-brained hero is a good human. I explained what had happened back in my homeland.

“… So, in other words, you just need to evolve, too!”

How did it come to that?

Wait… that’s it! If I evolve, I can create the ultimate thread for my Lord! What a brilliant idea!!

“… While I’m at it, I’ll train those hiding over there, too!”

It seemed some of my kin had followed me. And so began the hellish ordeal.

Defeat, defeat, defeat, and more defeat—how many foes had I conquered? I couldn’t even keep count.

Before I knew it, I had grown larger and stronger, capable of spinning the most beautiful thread I’d ever seen. It seemed using clear water was the key. The muscle-brained hero gave me something he called “concentrated holy water,” and when I used it, the thread sparkled like divinity itself.

This was it! A thread worthy of my Lord’s dress!

Overcome with joy, I thanked the muscle-brained hero from the bottom of my heart. The other evolved kin offered to help as well. I was ecstatic as I headed back to my lord.

As usual, I entered the town… but I made a blunder I normally wouldn’t.
