Former Heroine and Provisional Heroine.
We received congratulations from Rinka, Lavita, Yue-chan, and Fizz as well.
“Thanks. Now, I wonder which one of you will be the next bride?”
It was funny to see the guys all flustered.
“Wouldn’t it be me?”
“Unexpectedly, it might be the Usamimi Megane-sensei!”
Lavita was sulking after being told they’d have to wait their turn. Fizz was blushing.
These couples have a lot in common too. Fizz and Lavita… well, the “demon” half was my enemy. Rinka was summoned as a substitute heroine… no, as the heroine for the true grand ending. And Yue-chan was the one who was originally supposed to be summoned as the heroine. In other words, they’re the Provisional Heroine and the Former Heroine.
“What is it? Why are you staring at my face?”
“Just thinking Rinka doesn’t really seem like a heroine.”
“In a game, I’d be a support character at best, and a background extra at worst. Being a heroine is impossible. No thanks.”
“Oh, come on, you totally seduced Lavita, didn’t you?”
“Don’t make me sound like some kind of femme fatale! That gives people the wrong idea!!”
She did fulfill her role as a heroine, and if she acted normal, she could be considered a beautiful girl. But she’s so rotten that she doesn’t give off heroine vibes at all.
Yue-chan also looks more like a handsome guy, so she feels more like the supportive best friend type than a heroine. Actually, I could totally see a yuri ending happening.
“What’s wrong? Still, Rosarin, you really are beautiful. You’re glowing.”
“Yue-chan, I think that dress is literally glowing. And if we go by that logic, Aldin-sama would be even more beautiful!”
“Alright, let me rephrase! Rosarin, you look absolutely stunning today!”
“Wow, your vocabulary dropped fast! But simple is best! Rosarin, cute really suits you more than I expected!”
“Ahaha, thanks. Personally, I love it, but I didn’t think it would suit me. Turned out it wasn’t so bad once I tried it on.”
As we chatted, Lavita, who had been sulking, perked up and added light roses to the bouquet.
“Um… I can’t really put it into words, but I’m really grateful. Thank you for stopping me… us.”
“I just did what I wanted to do. I did my best in my own way. Forget Tita, the evil was causing all kinds of trouble.”
“… That kabaddi thing was terrifying. And you were totally expressionless, Rosarin.”
I’m the one who brought it up, but seriously, I’d rather you not dig up that black history. That’s definitely a landmine.
“Fizz used to be a real mess too.”
“… Yeah. Seriously… I was the worst.”
Trying to dodge the landmine right in front of her, she stepped right on a massive one—ahhhhh!! Neither Dirk nor I are mad about it anymore, so don’t worry! Geez, everyone’s so hard on themselves!
As I panicked, Yue-chan saved the day.
“Fizz! Stop brooding forever! I’m here! You realized your mistake and tried to make amends, right!? Rosarin and Dirk aren’t blaming you! Be confident! I love you more than anyone! I *love* you!! So don’t belittle yourself! Don’t wallow in misery! I’ll share your sins, your sadness, and your joy!!”
“… You really are the best fiancée, Yue.”
Safe!! Yue-chan, nice save!! Wow, the presence of a bride—er, fiancée—is truly powerful! Fizz, like Jash, is so earnest at heart, that she’s still hung up about everything.
“If I mess up, Fizz, I want you to scold me.”
“… I will.”
They’re so lovey-dovey. When I glanced at Dirk, he had such a gentle expression on his face. Every time Fizz got moody, Dirk always struggled since he was the cause. But with Yue-chan around, she won’t let Fizz sink into gloom.
Rinka also loved the Evil, was loved in return, and brought him back to his original form as a god. Maybe a heroine’s true value is that kind of influence. Helping themselves and their partner grow, and together, winning the future they want. In that sense, both of them are splendid heroines.
“What’s up? You’re smiling.”
“Hm? Just thinking you two really are fine heroines.”
When I shared what I’d been thinking, Rinka looked exasperated, and Yue-chan gave a wry smile.
“By that definition, Rosarin, you’re the only real heroine here!”
“True. In the game, Dirk was practically a different person.”
“… Actually, none of the romance options kept their original form. Ru-sama and Ernst turned from indoor to outdoor types, Aldin-sama changed from arrogant to radiant. Alphage-sama went from scheming to pitch-black, Curtis’s gang switched from assassins to knights, and Jend avoided a harsh and lonely life by not losing his mom… and Jash’s name and even hair color are different.”
Oh yeah, that’s true. Now that it’s come up, I have something to say.
“I didn’t do *anything* to Alphage-sama.”
Then I frantically defended myself. I did have some influence on the others to a degree. But it was only ever a catalyst. The ones I acted on directly were Curtis, Jend, and Jash. Huh? That’s more than half.
“There’s no doubt that becoming Rosarin brought about a lot of changes.”
“Ugh.”
Even my father calmly pointed it out. Wait, Tousama smiling kindly?
“You brought me a lot of happiness. If you hadn’t been here, I might’ve lost something truly precious, buried in my work.”
He looked at Kaasamaas he said it. I never told him about dodging her death flag… but Tousama has a weirdly sharp intuition, so maybe he picked up on it.
“That’s right. I’m grateful to you too, Rosarin. Congratulations. May happiness shower upon you.”
“Meeting you was the turning point for me too. I offer you my heartfelt thanks and blessings. Ever since Dirk met you, he’s looked so happy… please, take care of my friend.”
“Leave it to me!”
I snuck a glance to see if Dirk heard Fizz’s words—he looked absolutely delighted. That’s great!
“Yeah! Ever since my Rinka-nee days, I’ve been in your debt! I’m so thankful I can’t even put it into words! Congrats on the wedding! I’m sure you’ll be happy no matter what with Dirk, but I’ll be praying for your happiness too, Rosarin!”
“Me too… I owe you more than I can ever repay. At the very least, you have my thanks and my blessings.”
“Thank you!!”
I couldn't help but smile as I received congratulations from the two heroines and their fiances.
