And finally, the moment has arrived!
Several months had passed since the incident in Shiverihas and Shamcats. At last, the wedding day had come. There were a ton of guests.
First, as a pre-show act, I was scheduled to perform with my adorable magic beasts. Feeling a little nervous, I stepped into the cathedral.
“Wow…”
The grand cathedral was breathtakingly beautiful, like a work of art. Every window was made of stained glass. The ceiling was dome-shaped, also adorned with stained glass. Each pane depicted a stunning landscape, so beautiful it took my breath away. Furthermore, intricate vine-patterned carvings decorated the pillars, and the desks and chairs were elaborately crafted. Flowers adorned everything.
It was truly a masterpiece worthy of being called Pochi’s greatest work. Once the guests had left, I wanted to take my time admiring it.
A large painting was displayed at the altar. It portrayed me, Dirk, Rin, Rosalia… and everyone I had met, all smiling together.
Feeling grateful to Pochi and the others who had created such a wonderful venue, I called out to them.
“Come on, my adorable ones!”
At my voice, my magic beasts appeared. At the same time, Darkness-sama stole the light inside the cathedral, and Holy Beast-sama gathered it into a spotlight.
“Grrr!”
First, the Snow Tiger, Shirayuki-kun, created an ice platform. To keep it from being slippery, Mofumaru spread an invisible layer of fur over it.
The evolved Suigetsu-san wove a beautiful web, which Crystal Rabbit, Crys-kun, decorated with crystals. The Paralysis Snake, Mahiru-san, lit up the shimmering web with electricity. Finally, Wind Hawk, Hojou-kun, lifted the web into the air, transforming it into a chandelier that changed shapes at will.
Chandelier, unicorn, flowers… and finally, a butterfly. The finale featured a beautiful butterfly soaring through the air, scattering sparks like a sparkler before vanishing fleetingly.
The audience erupted into applause, bringing the performance to a spectacular close.
“Well then, time to get changed.”
To assist with magic power control and in case of emergencies, I had been wearing a men’s outfit. But now, it was time to change into my dress. Makeup, hair styling… preparations for women really took a lot of time.
The cathedral’s events could be watched on a monitor.
Next up was Ernst’s flying magic tools showcase. At my brother’s signal, the cathedral’s roof opened. When had such a mechanism been installed…?
Up in the sky, Ernst and his team maneuvered their flying magic tools in a breathtaking formation. After all, only Christia had flying magic tools. The kings of various nations and the invited guests were ecstatic—especially the men, who seemed particularly excited.
The flying magic tools wrote in the clouds, “Congratulations on your wedding, Rosarin& Dirk.” They also drew colorful pictures, created rings, and flew through them in an exhilarating display.
I wondered if the Valkyrie could do something similar. Just as I thought that, I noticed that the Valkyrie, in its airship mode, had casually joined the show. Since when!? Zooming in for a closer look, I saw that even Ernst looked surprised. It seemed it had jumped in on its own.
The Valkyrie created colorful rings, which Ernst and his team flew through without breaking formation. The crowd was thrilled.
After the airship flew away, my brother stepped onto the stage.
“Ladies and gentlemen, please enjoy this special dance performance, which can only be seen here!”
At his signal, crackers popped, and strange creatures—somewhere between magic beasts and plants—marched in formation while playing musical instruments attached to their bodies. They kept perfect rhythm as they paraded across the stage, occasionally forming circles and shifting their lineup. Their synchronized footwork was impressive.
“Wow…”
Even my brother was dancing, looking like he was having an absolute blast! Ugh, I wanted to join in!
“Anyone who wants to sing or dance, feel free to join us!”
“Nuuuuh! Wahahahaha!”
The festival-loving old men—Geraldin-san and the former king of Wolfanea—leapt onto the stage. Hey, what if kids try to copy you? Just come up normally!
Then, from above, dragons and a Bahamut appeared, dancing with the gigantic plants.
The famous movie “Godzilla vs. Biollante” popped into my head.
Thinking rationally, I worried that guests unfamiliar with the situation might panic. However, the dragons unfurled a banner that read, “Congratulations on your wedding, Rosarin & Dirk!” This seemed to clarify that it was all part of the entertainment. Phew, thank goodness!!
The coordinated dancing was spectacular. Some guests joined in, some were incredibly skilled, others were hilariously bad, but everyone was smiling. There were even guests singing, making the dance even livelier! A perfect opening act!
I even thought, “Do we really need to go through with the actual wedding ceremony after this?” Just for a moment.
The final performance was by Makoto and the Mofumofu Clan troupe. I was looking forward to it! Though Makoto, who had the closing act, was crying, saying, “Please don’t make me go last.” Wahaha!
