Lodging in Catastie
Once we entered the city, our first stop was the Trade Guild to pay our respects.
The arrangements for our lodging had been handled through the Trade Guild by Alizée, so we actually didn’t know many details.
I wondered what kind of place had been prepared for us.
“Here is the lodging prepared for all of you.”
Guided by a Trade Guild staff member, we arrived at an inn that was clearly built on prime land.
Its name was “Jewel of the Deep Sea”.
It wasn’t the single most luxurious inn in Catastie, apparently, but it belonged to the highest class, and the main reason it had been chosen was that its security was said to be the most robust.
We would be renting an entire floor of that inn.
Quite extravagant.
I had been told to spend money where it should be spent, so I couldn’t object.
“Well then, please relax and enjoy your stay for today. Also, could you come to the Trade Guild again another day?”
“Understood. What is the matter?”
“The Guildmaster wishes to greet you. The details will be explained directly by the Guildmaster.”
Well, I did need to greet the Guildmaster anyway.
To get the troublesome part over with quickly, I had them make an appointment for tomorrow afternoon.
Although we would need to come again for confirmation at their convenience, it would end up being the same either way.
—or so I thought, but it seemed they had already checked my availability beforehand, and we were set to meet at around three in the afternoon.
After lunch, we planned to do a bit of sightseeing before heading to the Trade Guild.
Once the schedule was confirmed, the Trade Guild guide introduced us to the inn’s manager and then returned to the guild.
From here on, the inn’s manager would show us around.
“Welcome to our Jewel of the Deep Sea. It is an honor to receive you, Lady Lily, newly appointed Platinum-rank merchant.”
“Thank you. We look forward to staying here for the next ten days.”
“It is our pleasure. Please enjoy your time here. Now then, allow me to guide you to your rooms.”
Our rooms were on the top floor of the inn.
That entire floor was a VIP zone where not only ordinary guests but even regular employees were not allowed to enter.
To reach this floor, you could use either the elevator or the stairs, but both were exclusive routes leading directly here, and unregistered individuals could not enter.
This time, everyone in our group had been registered so we were free to come and go.
“On this floor, we have prepared rooms where not only the honored guest but all guards may rest comfortably. As for meals, our head chef will come to this floor to cook, so there is no need to move to the dining hall.”
In short, VIP guests should not eat mixed with general customers.
If anything happened, it would cause all kinds of trouble.
They would need to change the menu only for VIPs, or an attacker aiming for VIPs could harm other customers, or if food poisoning occurred, the VIPs would be caught up in it as well.
In any case, VIP guests received VIP treatment.
“If you have any questions, please ask the concierge stationed beside the elevator hall. Have you already had lunch today?”
“No, we were thinking of going out to eat later.”
“If you prefer, we can have the head chef come and prepare lunch. What shall we do?”
Hmm, so we could eat lunch here as well.
In that case, I suppose we might as well ask for lunch today.
We could save the pleasure of dining in the city for tomorrow and onward.
What do you think about this chapter?
What's for lunch? 😋
Thanks for the batch releases. 🙏
