Red-Rank Armor
After concluding the business negotiations for white adventurer equipment, I guided Young lady Conniette to the first floor, as she wanted to look around the store.
It seemed this was her first time seeing a shop lined with so many brand-new clothes.
Moreover, all of them were crafted using magical sewing, so even if they were a bit loose, they could adjust to the wearer's size.
How convenient.
"Oh my? Miss Lily, what is that partitioned room over there?"
"Ah, that's a room specifically for undergarments."
"Undergarments? I see. Even in a women-only store, people don't like having their undergarments seen much, do they?"
"Well, there's that too... Would you like to have a look?"
"Then, by all means... What is this!?"
Ah, I knew she'd react like that.
It's something that gradually gained popularity in the Vardmoi territory.
"Miss Lily, these undergarments are…"
"They're called shorts. Basically, they're a replacement for drawers."
"That much is clear! But aren't they... indecent?"
Young lady Conniette turned bright red, looking utterly innocent.
Now that I think about it, I recall Alizée saying something similar when she first saw them.
"Not necessarily, Young lady Conniette."
"Young lady Kou?"
It was Young lady Kou who chimed in to help from the side.
She explained that compared to drawers, shorts cover less surface area, preventing stuffiness and keeping things cool.
She especially praised them, saying she really felt the difference in this season.
But since when has Young lady Kou been wearing shorts?
They’re only sold in the Vardmoi Marquisate.
Did someone from the Vardmoi family send them to her?
"Still, I think they're a bit too indecent..."
"Well, think of it as giving them a try. They're not expensive, after all."
"... Alright. I'll buy a few."
Thanks to Young lady Kou's sales pitch, Young lady Conniette ended up buying some shorts.
Though honestly, she didn’t need to go that far just to try them on.
After browsing the main store's selection, she expressed a desire to check out the workshop in the back, so I let her have a quick look.
The workshop isn't exactly pristine, so I prefer not to show it to others too often.
Inside the workshop, there were various fabrics, leathers, the equipment for Ulla and the others, and a dress I was making for Princess Rodenlight.
While I expected Young lady Conniette, being a girl, to focus on the dress, what caught her eye instead was the equipment for Ulla and the others.
She was examining it with a very serious look.
"Miss Lily, are all these pieces of equipment made by you?"
"Yes, that's right."
"This leather armor—it's for the red rank, isn't it?"
"I used leather of a quality suitable for the lowest tier of the red rank. The clients are trustworthy and had some financial leeway, so even though their rank is lower, I made them red-rank equipment."
"I see. So, you have the skill to craft red-rank leather armor."
"Yes, I do. I haven’t had much experience, but I can make it."
"Miss Lily, would you consider crafting leather armor for the red-rank adventurers in my territory? They should be able to afford the commission."
A request from Young lady Conniette, huh?
I’d like to accept it, but by “they,” she must mean men as well.
This store is meant to cater to women only, but maybe I should at least hear her out.
What do you think about this chapter?
