The Nostalgic Cabin
When I used the crystal again, it took me back to the original spot — and, as expected, Plum scolded me.
Well, that one’s on me. I was careless, so I can’t complain. This time, I’ll just have to accept it. It really was my fault.
Anyway, I tried to bring everyone to the Goddess’s cabin, but as it turns out, besides Talat and me, I can only take two other people along.
I tried a bunch of different ways, but only those who were directly holding my hands could transfer with me.
If more than two people held hands at once, nobody moved at all.
So, one person per hand — two at most.
Plum decided who’d act as my escorts to the Goddess’s cabin, and she picked herself and Fanny.
In other words, the two who had personally met the Goddess before.
If there’s anything troublesome in that cabin, those two could cover it up smoothly.
Even I don’t know what’s left there or what’s been prepared for us.
What could still be there? What might have changed?
“… Still, this building is imbued with divine energy. The space itself radiates it.”
“You’re pretty knowledgeable about that kind of thing, Fanny.”
“To some extent. But did you really live here?”
“I did. Though, it’s possible it just looks the same but isn’t actually the same inside.”
“We’ll find out soon enough. If this truly was built by Lady Yggdralia, it should be safe.
That said, I can’t just let Lily go in first. I’ll take the lead.”
“I’ll leave it to you, Plum.”
“Very well… Hm? The door won’t open?”
Huh?
No matter how much Plum pushed or pulled, the door wouldn’t budge.
Even after switching with Fanny, it stayed firmly shut.
But when I tried opening it myself, it swung open without any problem.
So I’m the only one who can open it, apparently.
Security-wise, it’s perfect. As expected of the Goddess’s cabin.
“It’s a bit odd that only Lily can open the door, though…”
“This place was probably made specifically for me to come here… Huh, the inside looks different.”
“Different?”
“Yes. There used to be a bookshelf over there, but now it’s gone.”
I was sure that before I left, there’d been a bookshelf right there.
I took all the books with me, but I’d definitely left the shelf behind.
Now it’s gone. Maybe the Goddess tidied it up herself?
“And… oh, the black door’s gone too.”
“The black door?”
“Yeah. It was the room over there — the one where I was told I could return to the cycle of reincarnation if I slept there.
I guess it was removed since it doesn’t serve that purpose anymore.”
“Most likely so. And really, leaving such a dangerous room around would’ve been troublesome.”
True, it’d be scary if someone accidentally fell asleep there.
It doesn’t serve a purpose anymore, so the Goddess probably removed it out of consideration.
After checking the rest of the cabin, I noticed that the equipment I’d left behind was gone too.
Which means… the mace I’d kind of hoped to retrieve is gone as well.
Even though I managed to come back here, it seems I can’t just take whatever I please.
That’s fine — I wasn’t expecting much anyway.
“Alright, now where are the tools for making fabric?”
(Lily, isn’t it in this room?)
“Over there? That’s the bedroom I used to sleep in.”
(Yeah, but I’m sensing a strong presence from that direction. I think that’s the place.)
So the Goddess put it in my old bedroom, huh?
That’s actually convenient — I could take a nap there if I get tired.
Anyway, let’s go take a look.
