On Managing the Saltas Company Headquarters
I’d love to hole myself up in the goddess’s hut and keep practicing my silk weaving, but right now I don’t have that luxury.
Given my position, there’s a mountain of things I need to handle.
I’ve been wrapped up with goddess-related matters these past few days, so I need to make up for that time.

“So, Alizée, how’s the Saltas Company doing?”

“For details about Saltas, I’ll defer to Alba. Is that all right?”

“Of course. Currently, we’re constructing the company’s headquarters along Central Avenue in Vardmoi. The building will be four stories tall, and we expect it to be completed toward the end of autumn.”

“Understood. That schedule shouldn’t be a problem. What kind of goods are we planning to sell?”

“To be honest, Lady Lily, Saltas doesn’t really have merchandise suited for a major city like Vardmoi. Perhaps your high-end clothing and armor for upper-rank adventurers, at best.”

Alba’s got a point.
Saltas’s main business is supporting remote settlements and transporting food supplies—there’s no real reason for us to be selling things in a big city.
We don’t even have products that fit that market.
Sure, we could buy trade goods and resell them, but that’d just pit us against existing merchants.
No sense in competing to sell the same stuff as everyone else.
Hmm, what could we offer instead...?

“Lady Lily, if I recall correctly, you hold exclusive import rights from the Isles of the Eight Gods, yes?”

“Yes, I do. Why?”

“Then we should make full use of that privilege—import the Isles’ handicrafts and specialty goods. Also, since you can negotiate directly with Darshe, consider whether we can sell Darshe’s specialty items as well.”

Ah, Darshe!
That hadn’t even crossed my mind.
When I asked Plum about it, she said that while it’s hard to be certain without going through their embassy, we should be able to import a fair amount of goods—so long as they aren’t high-level magi-tech items like airships or complex components.

According to Alizée and Alba, we should focus on importing everyday goods rather than advanced magical technology.
Apparently, even with tariffs, some clothing and food items could still end up cheaper than what I sell now.
Hmm… no matter how efficiently I can produce things myself, I can’t really compete with an industrial-scale production system.
Still, it sounds like Darshe-style teaware, tableware, and lighting fixtures—the ones we use around the house—might sell well too.
After all, imported goods tend to attract a lot of attention, especially among nobles who have to stay ahead of fashion trends.

I’ll gather everyone’s opinions soon and bring them to the Darshe embassy.
Since Lord Sazaby is still staying there, maybe I’ll get the chance to hear his thoughts directly.
He is a grand duke, though, so I’m not expecting things to go too smoothly.
