Lily the Tailor in Her Element
The next day, the dress for Young lady Kou was found to be mercilessly slashed.
It was clearly the work of yesterday's bandits.
How could they do such a thing?
Even though my piece was only a prototype, seeing it in tatters made me furious.
What should I do about this?
"This is troubling. We only have a week until the graduation ceremony, and we need to make dresses for both the ceremony and the party by then..."
"Mother, what should we do?"
"Well... Lily, can you handle this?"
Can I handle it?
I'll make sure I do!
"I’ll handle it. I'm angry that my work was shredded!"
"That's reassuring. So, which one will you..."
"Leave both to me! Luckily, the patterns are still intact, so I can mass-produce both! Also, let me handle the embroidery. I'll give you the patterns, so please embroider directly where indicated!"
For the ceremonial dress, a formal dress would be appropriate.
In that case... despite Young lady Kou’s preferences, perhaps an afternoon dress?
It should have a long skirt to cover the feet.
It's said that showing too much arm is improper, so let's go with sheer sleeves that cover to the elbows.
According to Lady Harriet, the ceremonial dress must be in a deep blue color, so that’s what we’ll use.
That should be fine for the ceremonial dress.
As for the party dress, let's go flashy.
For the party, I'll prepare two types: an empire-line dress and a mermaid-line dress.
First, I'll make an empire-line dress for dance practice so Young lady Kou can get used to dancing in it.
Meanwhile, I'll create both the actual empire-line dress and the mermaid-line dress for the party.
Both will be primarily white with a hint of pale blue, essentially the natural color of Frost Spider Silk.
I'll use Frost Spider Silk freely to make various adornments.
The empire-line dress will have a slightly different color at the chest, with a stronger blue.
This will subtly emphasize the chest.
I'll also make gloves from Frost Spider Silk.
These will have intricate embroidery, so I'll wait for the sample to be made.
Next is the mermaid-line dress, which will be worn after a change of makeup.
This dress isn't meant for dancing.
In other words, it’s for after the announcement that "the search for a fiancée is over."
The mermaid-line dress will tightly follow the body’s contours, making it perfect for the well-toned Young lady Kou.
The material will also be Frost Spider Silk.
This one will have a gradient from pure white at the feet to deep navy at the chest.
Here and there, I'll add white dots to evoke falling snow.
Both dresses will have a lily flower made from fabric at the chest.
I’ve confirmed in advance that using lily flowers isn’t prohibited, so there’s no issue there.
The embroidery samples were completed in a day, so now I just need to transfer the designs onto the dresses using magic embroidery.
What kind of result will it be?
I can't wait to see Young lady Kou wearing these!
