Establishing the Cabin as a Base
While I was leisurely arranging the commission for the Goddess’s statue, Plum had gone out to buy preserved foods and supplies.
And when I say “preserved foods,” that covers a lot—dried meat, moisture-removed bread, long-lasting wine, and even specially processed smoked meats that don’t spoil.
Basically, anything that wouldn’t rot or mold, she bought in bulk and stored at the Goddess’s base.

Incidentally, the Goddess’s base also has both a refrigerator and a freezer.
Back when I used to live there, I never really thought about it, but—yeah, I still have no clue what kind of power source they run on. Goddess-grade technology, I guess.
Anyway, it’s convenient, so I’m not complaining. I’ll keep using them.

“This should be enough food for now. Even if we move around, it’ll just be you and a few others. No need for huge reserves.”

“Right. Is there anything else we should prepare?”

“Hmm. Well, you’ve got your own bedroom, Lily, but your attendants don’t. That’s a problem.”

“Oh, right. Since that black door disappeared, we lost a whole room.”

“Even if only your guards are coming with you, they won’t demand private rooms. But we should at least have some bedding ready.
Even if no one can attack this place by ordinary means, being cooped up in a small space means we need to make it livable.”

She had a point—it needed to be a comfortable space.
Now that I thought about it, the Goddess’s cabin was clearly designed for just me.
There wasn’t really anywhere else where others could stay comfortably.

If it didn’t rain inside that world, I could set up a nice big tent outdoors and put beds inside it… but that might be a bit much.
There’s not even a sofa anywhere in the place, so I went to check if there was any space to put one.
No luck.

The cabin only had three rooms: my bedroom, a workroom, and a combined living room–kitchen.
Each was decently sized, sure—but not really big enough for extra furniture like sofas.
Outside, there was also a shed where I used to store weapons, but that obviously wasn’t fit for sleeping.
Basically, no space where anyone but me could relax.

“What should we do, then? Should we just put up a big tent after all?”

“Hmm, yes, we’ll prepare one just in case—but sleeping bags are probably better.
No matter how safe this place is, it wouldn’t do for guards to sleep outside while the person they’re protecting rests indoors.”

“Ah, true enough.”

So, we decided to store several high-quality sleeping sets in the cabin—thick mats, warm blankets, and comfortable pillows.
They probably won’t ever need to be used, but… if it ever comes to that, it’s better than having everyone miserable and cramped.
