Inspection by Rumaja and Her Team
A few days had passed since the Adventurers’ Guild incident, and it was the shop’s day off.
Today, we had opened the shop to welcome special guests.
In the shop were Rumaja, the Grand Master of the Adventurers’ Guild, Rolan, the new Guild Master of the Vardmoi Adventurers’ Guild, and their new Vice-Guild Master, Aude.
Normally, this shop had a strict policy of no male customers, but we made an exception for Rolan today.
Of course, he wasn’t allowed into the underwear section.
“Mhm, this is quite an impressive shop.”
This was the first comment Rumaja made upon entering.
I was pleased to hear that, since we put a lot of effort into the shop’s interior.
The three of them went straight to the adventurer equipment section.
“… Hmm. It really is equipment for newly promoted adventurers of Black to Blue Rank.”
“The prices are lower compared to stores of the same rank. The condition is good, and there’s an enchantment. We can recommend this at the Adventurers’ Guild.”
“Indeed. Even though it’s for lower ranks, it has enchantments. This is a unique service.”
“Absolutely. Thanks to magic tailoring, minor size differences won’t be a problem, and with the enchantments, there’s no reason not to recommend it.”
I was relieved that my shop seemed to meet Rumaja’s expectations.
Once the inspection was complete, I answered their questions.
Rumaja was concerned about the lack of equipment for White Rank adventurers and the absence of a buyback system for outdated gear.
“Why are White-rankers excluded?”
“Well, I haven’t made equipment for White Rank adventurers because I’ve been advised by the Wildcat Claws members that it’s not advisable for low-ranked adventurers to spend a lot of money for high-quality armor.”
“I see, there’s a point to that. But from my perspective, this shop’s benefits are limited to female adventurers. It may not be a significant issue in that regard.”
“Is that so?”
“Well, monopolizing the female adventurer armor market with just one shop isn’t ideal. However, that’s a matter of competition among other shops. You don’t sell metal products or weapons, do you?”
“Oh, for weapons, we have a partnership with a nearby blacksmith. They sell to both men and women.”
“Hmm… I see. We should inspect that place today as well.”
It seemed like “The Gleam of Molten Iron” was now under scrutiny as well.
I had confidence in that shop, but I couldn’t help feeling a little worried.
“And so, why don’t you have a buyback system for unwanted items?”
“Well, I’m a Magic Tailor. I’m good at creating, but not so skilled at repairs or maintenance.”
“If you have the appropriate magic paper patterns, you should be able to mend items with repair materials, no?”
“Huh? Is that so?”
This was news to me.
I had been using magic tailoring similarly to my past life’s video games, and didn’t realize it could be used for repairs.
If that’s the case, I could also repair second-hand items and resell them.
Second-hand items could be sold even cheaper.
“Understood. From now on, I’ll also offer to buyback leather products purchased from my shop.”
“That’s the spirit. It’s not a good thing for your shop’s leather armor to end up in other stores. It will sell at a higher price than mediocre new items.”
I hadn’t thought that far.
Also, I was asked to make higher-tier equipment as soon as possible, but that depended on my proficiency in magic tailoring.
I felt like my proficiency was higher with leather products than with fabric ones, but leather products were primarily for adventurers, and they didn’t sell as well.
After discussing these matters, Rumaja and Aude began exploring the rest of the shop.
Since Rolan was a man, he couldn’t enter certain parts of the shop.
I attended to the two women, and they turned their attention to the surroundings.
Tanya took care of Rolan in the meanwhile.
The two of them immediately noticed the underwear section and bought a lot of bras and panties.
I wondered if it was okay with Rolan around, but it seemed that as female adventurers gained experience, they stopped caring about male gazes.
They also selected some clothes on display and tried them on in the dressing room before making purchases.
It appeared that dressing rooms were not common in this world.
Noble shops had mirrors, but it wasn’t the norm in shops that commoners visited.
My shop would stick to this method, though.
