Parfe Ranch Experience
“Waaah! So many cows!”
“Goo! (So many kids!)”
We followed the first group to the Parfe Ranch, and—just as expected—both the children and the Parfes were sparkling with excitement in their eyes.
It was the first time the kids had seen so many Parfes in one place, and it was also the first time the Parfes had seen a group of children.
In other words, it was a new experience for both sides.
The Parfes would probably get used to it eventually, and I’d like to believe there won’t be any problems.
“Googoogoo? (Can we play with them now?)”
“Not yet. Wait just a bit longer. The rest are still on their way.”
“Guggoo! (Okay!)”
Well, the Parfes knew they’d get to play soon, so they were in a great mood.
Right now, we hadn’t opened the gate yet, and the kids were still holding hands with their parents, so they couldn’t enter freely. But if left alone, they’d definitely bolt forward.
I’d expected it, but the popularity of Parfes was overwhelming.
Eventually, once all the participants had arrived, it was time for the ranch experience to begin.
Still holding hands to keep them from dashing off, the children eagerly tugged at their parents, trying to get closer to the Parfes.
The Parfes, seeing them approach, waited with gleaming eyes.
Good job, Parfes, for not running over to them.
“Hello, cow!”
“Gugggoo! (Hello!)”
“Let me ride your back!”
“Guggugoo! (Sure!)”
The children immediately began climbing onto the Parfes’ backs.
Most of them must have ridden once before—they looked calm and relaxed.
A few were visibly nervous, probably riding for the first time.
I’ve only ever ridden on Talat’s back myself, so I don’t know what the view from Parfe’s back is like, but they all seemed to be enjoying it.
“Left-right! Left-right!”
“Guggugoo! Guggugoo!”
Children and Parfes moved in sync as they strolled around the ranch.
Seriously, everything turns idyllic when Parfes are involved.
“Lady Lily, may I have a moment?”
“What is it, Alizé?”
“Will this ranch remain open to the public for free?”
Ah, that question.
This first event was free since it was a trial run, but we do need to think about the long term.
Still, I don’t see a problem...
“We’ll keep it free if it’s just about coming to the ranch and interacting with the Parfes. Instead, we’ll earn income from other areas.”
“Other areas... Ah, you mean the Parfe milk?”
“Yes. We can’t sell it just yet since we’re still confirming its safety, but eventually we plan to market it. Plus, dairy products made from it.”
“Dairy products? Like cheese?”
“For something the kids would enjoy—ice cream, maybe. Or hands-on butter-making experiences.”
“I see. Then let’s begin preparations as soon as we get the necessary permissions.”
“No need to rush. This business wasn’t meant to be profit-focused in the first place.”
“Merchants who don’t care about profits aren’t exactly trustworthy, you know?”
“Ah... Well, let’s just say we’ll really get things rolling after the dairy craftsmen arrive from Isles of the Eight Gods.”
“Understood. Still, it’s such a peaceful sight.”
It really is.
Why is it that Parfes radiate pure healing energy?
They’ve completely abandoned their wild instincts... Is that really okay?
What do you think about this chapter?
