Investment in the Galette County
For now, I decided to take this matter back with me and consult Alizée, who seemed knowledgeable about such things.
After some thought, she concluded that lending money to Galette County wouldn’t be a bad idea.
"First of all, fundamentally speaking, Lady Lily, you have more than enough financial leeway."
"That’s true. The profits from the dungeon we explored in the spring were huge."
We had entered that dungeon in search of Amira’s skill crystal, but the earnings from it had been astonishing.
I sold off the summoning cards, skill crystals, and all weapons that weren’t obviously too dangerous to circulate through the Adventurers' Guild.
The amount of money I received was absolutely absurd.
I was told that if I sold the summoning cards as well, my earnings would multiply several times over, but I decided to keep them for Amira’s defense instead.
Well, I had so many of them that I kept a few for myself too.
As a result, I had apparently become one of the wealthiest merchants in Vardmoi.
However, since I wasn’t using this money for further investments or store expansions, my funds were just sitting idle.
This proposal was essentially about putting those surplus funds to use.
It was a very Alizée-like suggestion.
"Galette County is Young lady Conniette’s domain, right? If that territory doesn’t prosper, it could affect the distribution of Connies. The freezer magic vehicles transporting Connies also require escorts."
I see, so this was also a form of forward investment in that regard.
She had thought it through well.
Furthermore, she mentioned that this could be an opportunity to introduce my armor and clothing to Galette County.
Hmm, that part didn’t really matter much to me.
"As always, you’re not interested in expanding your business, are you?"
"It’s not that I don’t want to, but I’m managing everything on my own, aren’t I? I want my main business to be the clothing store, so starting an armor shop as well feels a bit off."
"In that case, how about hiring people for the armor business? Right now, there aren’t even any proper rival stores, so this is a chance to monopolize the market."
A monopoly on the market… That sounded like something that could make people resent me.
When I honestly voiced my concerns, she simply told me that this was the nature of business.
I suppose it really was about competing for a limited customer base, but I didn’t want to drive out the local craftsmen.
"Hmm, so you don’t want to crush the local craftsmen. In that case, how about using your funds to establish a training school for artisans?"
"A training school for artisans?"
"Yes. According to what you’ve told me, Galette County is struggling to produce craftsmen capable of making high-quality equipment for advanced adventurers. If that’s the case, wouldn’t it be beneficial to train skilled artisans within the territory?"
"Do I even have enough money for that?"
"Even if you invested that much, it wouldn’t reduce your wealth by even ten percent."
Wow, I really had way too much money.
Since it would also support Young lady Conniette, maybe I should consult Marquis Vardmoi about it.
It would be faster to move forward with noble backing, after all.
What do you think about this chapter?
? Lily's business is expanding. Thanks for the treat.
Lily...We havnt heard your bank balance in awhile. You could probably afford to fund a small Count's territory.
Oh wait. Shes gonna be doing exactly that.
