Fantasy Metal and Magic Swords
Since magitech weapons are out of the question, the choices boil down to fantasy metal weapons or magic swords.
What advantages does each have, I wonder?
Guess I should ask Fanny about that.
"Fantasy metal is basically the superior version of regular metal. Strong as can be. Enchantments can be applied freely. But the blacksmith’s skill is what really matters."
Well, that makes sense.
Back when adamantite came up, Teysa said it was impossible for her at the time.
Now though, with the equipment and her skills, it looks like she could manage.
Still, it seems the real problem is obtaining it.
"Fantasy metal is acquired as rare dungeon material. Only certain dungeons drop it, and it’s hard to come by. Outfitting four people would cost quite a fortune."
"I’m not too worried about the price, but the quantity is the issue, isn’t it?"
"If money’s not a concern, then yeah, supply is the real hurdle. Not as bad as Geo Crystals, but still hard to get."
Hmm, tricky.
So what about magic swords? Guess that’s more Juna’s field.
"Magic swords? A magic sword comes with built-in effects, like it’s already enchanted. But you can’t add any extra enchantments. That said, high-quality magic swords usually have auto-repair, so you don’t need to worry about them breaking. The problem is, they’re still hard to acquire."
So, both are tough to get.
And with magic swords, compatibility with the wielder is another issue.
If the match is bad, the sword’s power overwhelms the user and makes them unable to fight properly.
That sounds like trouble.
So which one’s better?
"Fanny, which do you think would be faster to get?"
"… Honestly, it’s a toss-up. If you’ve got a blacksmith who can work with fantasy metal, then go collect that, but it’ll take time. Magic swords pop up at auctions sometimes, but if the fit’s wrong, they’re useless. I can’t say which is better."
So in the end, it really is a toss-up.
Fantasy metal is versatile, while magic swords are specialized but extremely powerful.
According to Lana, magitech weapons combine the best of both worlds, but if one breaks, only she can repair it.
And a weapon that can’t be repaired isn’t worth relying on—so that’s out.
Which one should we try to collect…?
"Lily, girl. Sittin’ here frettin’ ain’t gonna solve nothin’. Why don’t ya go to Alizée and ask which is easier to get? If it’s the metal, I’ll handle the rest for ya."
"Alright, I’ll do that. If we can get the metal, then I’ll count on you, Teysa."
Yeah, it’d be faster to just ask the Trade Guild.
Now, which one’s easier to gather, I wonder?
What do you think about this chapter?
Thanks for the treat.
Hm, rather weird that they have no supply option for high tier adventurer equipment.
Thanks for the chapter! Awesome translation! May God bless you!
