Preparing It as an Emergency Shelter
After returning to the crystal vein and then going back to the mansion in Vardmoi, I tested whether I could once again travel to the Goddess’s cabin — and sure enough, I could.
Apparently, it works no matter where I am.
However, it seems that the return point is fixed to wherever I was before traveling.
When I tried using it inside a moving carriage, I reappeared in the exact same spot inside the carriage afterward.
Good thing I didn’t get tossed out onto the road or something.
So then, the next question naturally became — could I make better use of that cabin somehow?
More specifically, could I use it as an emergency shelter?
“In conclusion, I’d say yes, you can.”
“I thought so too.”
“Of course. It’s a completely safe zone you can reach from any situation — and Talat comes along automatically, too.
That means even if you’re kidnapped, you can instantly reunite. Quite the ability, isn’t it?”
That part honestly surprised me the most.
Whenever I transfer to the Goddess’s cabin, Talat always transfers with me, without fail.
I even tested leaving him back at the Vardmoi mansion while I went to the outskirts of the city before teleporting — and he still appeared right beside me.
When we returned, we reappeared together in the same spot, too.
That means I can reunite with Talat anytime I want.
Having my strongest bodyguard able to regroup with me instantly, even if we’re separated, is a huge advantage.
And since the reunion happens after moving into a completely safe zone, there’s literally no risk involved.
It’s the ultimate in safety and security.
“So, yes. I’d like to store several months’ worth of emergency rations in that cabin if possible.”
“If it’s nonperishable, it should be fine. The refrigerator was still there, after all.”
“Then we’ll proceed with that plan. I’ll take care of buying the supplies myself.”
“Oh? You’re not going to ask Modalphas or the head chef?”
“The fewer people who know about that cabin, the better.
Right now, those aware of it are only the ones who were there — myself, Wildcat Claws, Dark Green Sprout, you, and Talat.
The Kiblinki Saltas will likely learn about it since they can read minds, but there’s no need to say anything outright.
We’ll keep it secret from the mansion staff as much as possible.”
“Understood. I won’t tell anyone.”
“Good. Also, you should learn Adamant Body.”
“Ah, for buying time in case I need to escape, right?”
“Precisely. It’s weak against restraints, but if you can teleport away to the Goddess’s cabin even while bound, that weakness no longer matters.”
Yeah… the Goddess’s cabin really is overpowered.
There were a few more things I could do as well — all centered on ways to protect myself in an emergency.
Up until now, I’d always relied on my guards for defense, but if I can use Adamant Body to endure even for a moment and transfer to the Goddess’s cabin, I can escape safely.
That means my guards won’t need to risk themselves trying to shield me.
It’s practically cheating.
But now that I know I can use it, I’ll take full advantage of it.
Still, it’s an incredible blessing to have received something so useful.
I really should thank the Goddess properly.
Maybe I’ll have a statue of her made and offer prayers next time.
What do you think about this chapter?
Yeah that's a cheat defense, but at the same time MC will always return from where she left? That's a weakness. Then again so far the story didn't introduce any other powerhouse that could be a serious threat (at least quality-wise).
Thanks for the chapter! Awesome translation! May God bless you!
Thanks for the chapter.
