Post-battle Process
The transportation of the Grand Death Worm finally concluded, marking the end of the Plain Earth Dragons subjugation mission.
At first, it seemed like the Adventurers’ Guild would suffer a huge loss due to the multiple large transport vehicles we lost, but it turns out they made a considerable profit, mostly thanks to the sale of the Grand Death Worm materials.
"Wow~ that bug is incredible. I tried some smoked meat from it, and it really sharpened my senses. All my fatigue vanished too. How does that even work?"
According to Melanie, that’s just how it is.
Even when I asked Plum or the people from the Darsche Principality, all they could say was that it’s some kind of miraculous remedy that blows away fatigue.
However, if consumed in excess, it can become toxic to the body. Eating a piece of dried meat the size of the first joint of your index finger once every three days is apparently enough.
Despite the tiny dosage, it has an unusually potent effect, and there’s an abundance of material.
There’s no way it wouldn’t sell.
After receiving an official letter from the Darsche Principality confirming that it doesn’t have any narcotic-like effects, the Adventurers’ Guild teamed up with the Trade Guild and started selling the Grand Death Worm meat.
It seems to be selling quite well, which is great news.
Now, as for the payment we’re due...
"The magic stones from the Plain Earth Dragons, Grand Death Worm's magic stones and 10% of the sales from the other parts of the worm?"
"Yes. If you’re dissatisfied, we can negotiate, but how does that sound?"
The amount Melanie proposed was surprising.
Since we couldn’t transport the Plain Earth Dragons, just receiving the magic stones was enough, but giving us 10% of the Grand Death Worm's sales is an incredibly generous offer.
After consulting with Plum, we agreed it was an exceptional deal, so we decided not to negotiate and accepted it as is.
As usual, the magic stones will be handled by the Adventurers’ Guild, and the monetary reward by the Trade Guild.
The money from the Grand Death Worm sales will be transferred to my account as soon as it’s available, so there’s no risk of missing out on it.
It looks like Alizée will have a surplus of funds for a while.
For now, I will collect the magic stones and then head over to the Trade Guild.
"Wow, that’s quite a lot of magic stones just from the dragons."
"Yeah. Eight Plain Earth Dragons and then the Grand Death Worm. That thing didn’t just have one magic stone, but several. Can you carry them all?"
"I think I’ll manage. Let me pack them up."
I started placing the magic stones—each about the size of my head from the Plain Earth Dragons, and even larger ones from the Grand Death Worm—into my backpack.
It’s clear I’m fitting more into the bag than it should physically hold, but everyone at the dismantling site knows that my bag has an expanded capacity, so they don’t pay it any mind.
"Oh, right. Sorry about that, Miss Lily. There was something I forgot to give you."
"Something you forgot?"
"Yeah. You remember the kid Lehreta that you helped out last winter? He said the magic stone from the monster he defeated was yours and left it for you. I completely forgot to hand it over. Sorry about that."
The head of the dismantling team apologized as he handed it to me, so I bowed in return and gave a quick apology myself.
Come to think of it, Lehreta did mention something like that.
"I had forgotten too, so no harm done. Besides, we were all quite busy with the Royal Capital's turmoil."
"Thanks for being understanding. Here, this bag contains the magic stone Lehreta asked me to pass to you."
"Thank you. Well then, I’ll be on my way."
After receiving the magic stone Lehreta left with the dismantler, I left the Adventurers’ Guild.
Hmm, with the sun already starting to set, I suppose I can visit the Trade Guild tomorrow.
For now, I need to give the magic stones to Talat.
