Debut Party (20)
○●○●Lily

At some point while I was dancing, my mind started to go hazy.
Then, before I realized it, there was a woman standing before me.
… Wait—no, her feet weren’t even touching the ground. She was floating.

Anyway, the woman had long hair in various shades of green, a perfectly symmetrical face, and a beautifully balanced figure.
Most striking of all, behind her floated a disc-shaped object, upright in the air.
No matter how you looked at it, she definitely wasn’t human.

Who could she be?

“Lily! Are you all right!?”

“Ah, Plum. And Fanny, too.”

“That person… I can feel an incredible presence from her. Be careful.”

Be careful? That’s easy to say, but—
I don’t even have a weapon right now… Wait, huh?

“Talat, you don’t seem tense at all. Are you sure that’s okay?”

(Me? I think it’s fine. Besides, I’ve probably met this Goddess once before.)

“Oh, so she is a Goddess.”

(Seems like it. I just remembered—when I was searching for a place to live, she was the Goddess who told me about the spot where I met you.)

Ah, so she’s the Goddess who guided Talat, huh.
Wait… that means—

“Um, are you Lady Yggdoria?”

(Yes. It’s our first time meeting like this, isn’t it, Lily?)

“Y–Yggdoria!?”

Plum reacted with such an exaggerated shock that I couldn’t help but blink.
What’s got her so worked up?

“Lady Lily… is it true that she is Lady Yggdoria?”

“Well, she’s the only Goddess I have any sort of connection with. Why?”

“… Lady Yggdoria is counted among the highest of the gods in nearly every religion of this world. She governs the birth and death of life itself.”

Ah, so she’s that kind of deity after all.
I’d suspected as much ever since she reincarnated me into this world.

… Hmm?
It’s awfully quiet down below, isn’t it?

(Ah, that’s because I’ve placed everyone except you three under a time-stopping miracle. Originally, I only intended to speak with you, Lily—but it seems the other two were unaffected.)

“Time-stop didn’t work on us…? Could it be because of this?”

Plum pulled out the Goddess’s whip—the one I’d given her long ago.
The color had changed, infused with her own magic, but it was still unmistakably a divine weapon.
So that’s why the time-stop didn’t take effect properly on her.

Then what about Fanny?

“I believe it’s because of my staff. It’s said to have been made from a branch of the World Tree.”

Ah, so she was protected by another divine artifact.
Seems Lady Yggdoria’s area of effect wasn’t all that precise after all.

(I hadn’t expected the two of you to resist my power, but that’s fine. Lily, how have you been?)

“I’ve been doing great, thanks to you, Lady Yggdoria.”

(I’m glad to hear that. When I sensed you suddenly performing a dance meant to honor the gods, I thought something had happened and hurried here—but it seems I worried for nothing.)

Ah… so because I accidentally fulfilled all the conditions for a sacred kagura dance, I ended up summoning a Goddess.
Guess I won’t be able to perform that kind of dance again anytime soon.

(Well, what’s done is done. Since I’m here, do you have any troubles? Anything you’d like help with?)

“Troubles, huh? Not really… oh, wait. Talat’s highest-grade thread can’t even be turned into silk—do you happen to know any tricks for that?”

(Talat is a Tarachnathos now, correct? By nature, Tarachnathos are not Silks Spiders. Trying to refine their thread into silk is no small task—it would take an extraordinary amount of effort.)

Hmm, so it really does come down to practice, huh.
Still, knowing it’s at least possible is something.

(Effort, yes—but we’re talking on the scale of a century or so of training. That’s quite unreasonable. I’ll lend a little divine aid.)

“Really!?”

(Yes. In the skill crystal vein you possess, I’ll place a golden skill crystal. Using it, you’ll be able to return to the cabin where you once lived. I’ll also add new equipment there to enhance your magic weaving and magical tailoring precision. Use it freely as you like.)

“Thank you so much!”

(Then, I’ll take my leave. Once I’m gone, time will begin to flow again after a short while. Try not to make it look unnatural.)

In an instant, a flash of light filled my vision—and Lady Yggdoria vanished.
I couldn’t very well lean out over the stage to look around, so I stayed still and waited.

… Well, there was quite the surprise, but I guess that’s the end of the party.
All right—I did my best!

Lulz, that was decent comedy. I wonder what did the other people noticed, maybe they only saw the light(s) when the goddess descended and went back, but I'm sure some would realize there was more to it than just some light show.
