Farewell to the Isles of the Eight Gods
With the import arrangements mostly settled, the remaining details were left for on-site discussions.
Meaning, we no longer had any reason to stay.
Personally, I’d been away from my shop for about two months already, and I was starting to get concerned.
It was a relief to be able to head home at this timing.

“Miss Lily, you’re really leaving, aren’t you?”

Lady Kiri looked a little downhearted.
According to Lady Kikuri, Lady Kiri hadn’t had many friends of a similar age, having been groomed as the next Water Seat with elite education. She didn’t have many friends in general.

“Haha… I don’t belong to this country after all.”

“It’s such a shame when we just became friends.”

“Sorry, but I have my shop back in the McFarlane Dukedom.”

“I see… Would it be alright if I visited your shop as a customer sometime?”

“Umm…?”

I glanced at the guards and aides behind her.
Seeing them nod with a resigned expression, it seemed they were allowing this much at least.
Must be tough being the bodyguards of high-ranking figures.

“Alright. Just don’t push yourself too hard, okay?”

“Yes! I’ll come along when we bring Parfes next year!”

We had arranged the exchange of Kiblinki Saltas and Parfes.
Since Kiblinki Saltas typically increased in autumn, we’d be delivering them around that time.
Parfes, on the other hand, seemed to grow in number around spring, so they’d recruit volunteers then and leave it to us.
In short, I’d be traveling between the McFarlane Dukedom and the Isles of the Eight Gods at least twice a year, in spring and autumn.
It wasn’t exactly a troublesome journey, but it was unusual for me to travel regularly like this.

“Lady Kiri, you can visit, but don’t trouble your guards, alright?”

“Lord Riku, thank you very much for everything.”

“No, I’m grateful too. You didn’t just help rescue the Parfes but also solved the issue of lending them out to various villages.”

“That was something the Kiblinki Saltas themselves wished for.”

“Still, to command such powerful monsters through empathy rather than force is quite a feat. You should be proud of that.”

“Haha, thank you.”

“Like Lady Kiri, I’d like to visit the McFarlane Dukedom someday. Sadly, work won’t allow it, so I’ve given up.”

“I see. But if you ever have the chance, do let me know. You’ll be most welcome.”

“I will. Have you greeted the other Seats?”

“Yes, already done. You two are the last.”

“I see. Safe travels, then.”

“We pray for your safe journey.”

“Thank you. I hope everything runs smoothly on the Isles of the Eight Gods.”

My words made both Lady Kiri and Lord Riku smile wryly.
Well, it all started with discussions about merchant education.
If that didn’t go well, the whole thing could turn out awkward.
I hoped things would go well on their end too.
As for us, we’d return to the McFarlane Dukedom for various reports and consultations.
Things were going to be busy on our side too.
Honestly, when the schedule gets packed like this, it feels like there’s no time to rest.
Guess having a more relaxed schedule… isn’t an option.

I wonder what awaits Lily once she returns to Vardmoi.
Thanks.
