Dispatch Conditions for the Kiblinki Saltas to the Isles of the Eight Gods
The cooperation terms between Lady Byaku and us were decided.
All that remained was to obtain permission to bring the Kiblinki Saltas to the Isles of the Eight Gods.
To that end, we were granted an audience with the Duke King in the royal capital of McFarlane.

“I see. The content of the matter aligns with the letter previously sent by Marquis Vardmoi.”

“Yes. From the perspective of the Isles of the Eight Gods, should you grant your cooperation, we will present you with Divine Sheep wool, the island’s specialty product.”

Divine Sheep wool was a woolen textile made from the fleece of sheep raised on the Isles of the Eight Gods.
Apparently, it couldn’t be mass-produced, so it was rarely ever brought over to this continent—an exceedingly rare and valuable item.
Incidentally, they asked me whether I wanted some, but I declined.
Even if I received an ultra-luxury textile, I really wouldn’t have much use for it.

“Very well. Lily, you are not opposed to lending them out?”

“No. If the Isles of the Eight Gods is willing to take them in, then I’m fine with it.
I won’t be able to exchange messages as frequently as I do with the children across the McFarlane Dukedom, though.”

“Very well. Then under certain conditions, I grant permission for the dispatch of the Kiblinki Saltas.”

So, there’s a condition.
What kind of condition, I wonder?

“Thank you. And what are these conditions?”

“Actually, they’re not for the Isles of the Eight Gods—they’re for you, Lily. I’d like you to also dispatch Kiblinki Saltas to areas outside of the Vardmoi faction within the dukedom.”

Ah, so the condition is for me.
But this seems like a long-standing issue that’s been shelved for the past three years.

“Is that really all right, Your Majesty? You used to say that it wouldn’t be accepted due to strong opposition from the opposing faction.”

“I’m sending them to other countries now. I no longer have the luxury of worrying about the opposition.
I’d like you to start by dispatching them to my faction—would that be acceptable?”

“Let’s see… If you want them in larger numbers, I can bring in new children this autumn?”

“Hmm... No, numbers are important, but for now, I want the residents to become familiar with them. A small group is fine for now, so please dispatch some as soon as you can.”

A small group, huh?
Every year, a portion of the Kiblinki Saltas fledglings come to me, so I actually have a fair number.
Depending on how many I send to the Isles of the Eight Gods, as long as I don't exceed my limits, it should be fine.
The ones working on the trial farmland in Vardmoi have already worked with human farmers, so they should be used to living among people.
Once I return, I’ll make the arrangements.

“Understood. I’ll make preparations as soon as I return to Vardmoi.”

“I’m counting on you… Honestly, it’s frustrating to see only Vardmoi’s faction grow prosperous while the others just sulk and do nothing effective.”

“Haha...”

It seems even the Duke King has had a lot on his mind.
Ruling a country really isn’t easy.

Otaku Hikikomori

It is their own fault, especially that Viscount who disrespected Lily.
Thanks for the treat.
