Financing for Galette County
With the artisan training institution settled, we moved to a separate room to discuss financing for Count Galette’s territory—specifically, funding for the establishment of an adventurer training institution.
Would this negotiation go as smoothly?

“I see. You are willing to finance the costs of establishing the adventurer training institution under Prince Sharon’s directive.”

“Yes. Of course, not unconditionally, but I am considering a full loan.”

“I see. And what are the conditions?”

Young lady Conniette’s gaze sharpened.
This was her as a ruler.
It was striking how a person’s role could change their demeanor.

… Did I need to change, too?
The thought weighed on me.

“I will explain. As a condition for the loan, all training armor used in the adventurer training institution must be procured from Lady Lily’s armor shop. This condition will remain in place until the loan is fully repaid.”

“There’s no telling how many years that will take. Does Lady Lily’s shop intend not to sell equipment to adventurers after they graduate?”

“We would like to maintain exclusivity… but that isn’t strictly necessary. Why do you ask?”

“Adventurers prefer to use familiar equipment unless they have a compelling reason to change. That would naturally increase Lady Lily’s shop’s market share.”

“That is likely to happen.”

“… Sigh. Having someone as competent as you assisting Lady Lily is truly a relief.”

“I am honored by your praise.”

Huh?
Wait.
Did Young lady Conniette just imply that I was… not very bright?

I mean, Alizée *is* extremely capable, but still—that was harsh!

“Miss Alizée, let’s stay on topic. I have no objections to procuring all training armor from Miss Lily’s shop. However, isn’t magic-sewn armor difficult to repair?”

“No need to worry. I have already found four leather armor craftsmen willing to work in Count Galette’s territory. They are currently in Vardmoi but will relocate once arrangements are in place.”

“You truly are thorough. Miss Alizée, would you consider becoming an advisor to Count Galette’s territory?”

“I am far too busy looking after Lady Lily.”

Young lady Conniette, don’t try to poach Alizée!
And Alizée, stop calling it ‘looking after’ me!
I’m not a child!

“As for the adventurer training institution, I would like to introduce a trial period before graduation where students test equipment made by local artisans. If that is acceptable, I will agree to the terms.”

“A well-thought-out proposal, Young lady Conniette. If they find comfortable equipment during that period, they will naturally become customers of the local shops. Very well. Honestly, it would not be ideal for too much money to concentrate in Lady Lily’s hands, so I will accept this condition.”

“Thank you. But is it really appropriate for someone from the Trade Guild to say that too much money is accumulating with their assigned merchant?”

“Money does flow to Lady Lily… but she hardly spends any. If we don’t find a way to release some of it into circulation, the amount will become a problem.”

“… I can sort of imagine that.”

What’s that supposed to mean!?

In any case, the financing for the adventurer training institution was secured.
Now… was there anything else we needed to discuss?

Now, I was defending MC a bit in my mind, but that last part... it seems she doesn't know why it's bad for so much money to be in the hands of few or only one person.
Thanks for the multiple release! Awesome translation! May God bless you!

Surreal

She actually does understand that hoarding money is bad. She did mention it in some earlier chapter (in the late 100s or somewhere in 200?). Not sure if she understands exactly WHY but she does know that too much money sitting idle is bad for the economy.
