The Equipment Situation in the Galette County
Although I explained to Young lady Conniette that my shop specializes exclusively in serving female customers, she still insisted on having me equip the red-ranked adventurers, at least this time.
When I asked why she was so adamant, it turned out to be related to the state of blacksmithing in the Galette County.
Galette County lacks any mines.
As a result, skilled blacksmiths don’t gather there.
However, there are four locations within the territory where strong monsters frequently appear.
These monsters must be regularly exterminated to prevent the emergence of higher-ranked variants.
Up until now, Young lady Conniette and her mother had been covertly supporting the adventurers, barely making ends meet.
But the equipment used by the red-ranked adventurers who handle these monsters is reaching its limit.
That’s why they are seeking new gear.
I understood the situation.
“But are you sure about coming to my shop? I don’t have much of a track record, you know.”
“I personally inspected that equipment. It certainly uses relatively inexpensive leather, but the critical parts are reinforced with multiple layers to ensure sufficient defensive power. There aren’t many leather armor craftsmen with that level of skill.”
Young lady Conniette smiled as she spoke, but her gaze was piercing.
It was clear I couldn’t turn her down.
Fine, I decided to take on the request, but only under a few conditions.
The first condition was that they do not visit my shop.
Since my shop is exclusively for women, I cannot accept male customers, even if they are referred by Young lady Conniette.
Instead, if they need to contact me, they should rely on the Adventurers’ Guild or the Trade Guild.
The second condition was that they must not publicize that I made the equipment.
As I’ve emphasized, my shop is for female customers only, and I do not usually create equipment for men.
While I have no issue selling gear to female adventurers, making male-oriented equipment could spark competition with other armor shops in Vardmoi, which I’d rather avoid.
The final condition was that they must not bring the equipment to me unless it is completely beyond repair.
Since my work uses Magic Tailoring, it can be repaired as long as they have the pattern and materials.
However, traveling to Galette County is not practical for me, and frequent visits from male customers would be a nuisance.
To address this, I proposed enchanting the equipment with “self-repair.”
While Young lady Conniette argued that the “self-repair” enchantment would be more expensive, I emphasized that repeated visits from male customers would be far more troublesome for me.
Under these conditions, I agreed to accept her request.
I also made it clear that the price would not be cheap.
While I can produce Spider Silk-related gear relatively affordably, the leather I have to purchase from the Trade Guild is non-negotiably expensive.
As long as they understood these terms, I decided to make the equipment for this one occasion.
But just this once.
What do you think about this chapter?
Until next time, thanks for the treat. ?
That's how it starts, just this once, and then but you already did it before, or just one more time (like Civ's one more turn), and then you're addicted.
Thanks for the multiple release! Awesome translation! May God bless you!
Once sets a precedent. Precedents lead to more.
