Inspection from Vardmoi
Since all the Kiblinki Saltas had gathered to help build the village, my original plan of distributing them to other villages was temporarily put on hold.
Considering we also had to prepare crop rotation fields, the number of Kiblinki Saltas staying in this village alone wouldn’t be enough.
Still, they said it would all be done in about a week, so I didn’t mind waiting around.

While I was spending time at the planned village site with that in mind, a visitor arrived from Taisha Island.
Apparently, they had business with me.

“What’s this about?”

“A messenger from the McFarlane Dukedom has arrived. They came to inspect whether it would be safe to bring Parfes back.”

Ah, right, I had requested that before coming here.
They’ve already arrived? They must’ve rushed quite a bit.

‘Getting ready’ mostly meant saying goodbye to Lady Kiri and Lord Riku, giving instructions to the Kiblinki Saltas, and explaining to the Parfes that had come with me that we’d be apart for a little while.
Travel wouldn’t take long since we had a Parfe wagon.
Within a week, I was back on Taisha Island.
After one more day, we arrived at the city of the Eight Seats.
Now then, who came to inspect things?

“Ah, Lily! You’re finally back!”

“Young lady Kou? Why are you here?”

“Father sent me. He told me to check if the new tamed monsters you’ve brought are dangerous.”

“... Is that really true?”

“... It is.”

So, Young lady Kou probably heard about this and forced her way into the inspection team.

“Well, I was originally supposed to lead this inspection team. Good to see you again, Lily.”

The third prince of the McFarlane royal family, Young lord Vic, is now officially engaged to Young lady Kou and currently lives in a secondary residence in Vardmoi.
Apparently, he’s receiving administrative education from Marquis Vardmoi together with Young lady Kou.
Young lady Kou is set to be the next Marquis of Vardmoi, and Young lord Vic will be her spouse.
It seems he also needs the knowledge to properly support her.

“So, the Parfe monster… is that the cow-like creature lounging around in the pasture?”

“Yes. They’re gentle by nature and even smarter than normal cows.”

“I see. Is it safe to approach them?”

“It should be. I’ll go get permission to enter the pasture.”

You can’t enter the monster ranch’s pasture without permission.
Mostly Parfes are in there, but if they panic, those strong Parfes could rampage.
That’s why there are two security checks: one to enter the ranch and one to enter the pasture.

“I’ve got permission for the pasture. You can enter from over there.”

“Thanks. Come on, Kou, let’s go.”

“Okay. Still… these Parfes don’t even react when people get this close.”

“The Parfes here are all tamed by someone. Wild Parfes are apparently much more cautious.”

“I see. But if they’re this docile, there shouldn’t be any issues bringing them back.”

“We can only make the political decision. The Guildmasters from the Tamers’ Guild will arrive later to decide whether they can be officially brought in as monsters. Without their permission, it won’t happen.”

“Okay… but still, they’re so calm…”

Young lady Kou seems to have really taken a liking to the Parfes.
She’s not going to throw a tantrum and insist on bringing them back no matter what… right?
