Eminira Dungeon Again (2)
As we advanced, alternating between ourselves and the Golden Wings in subjugating the enemies, we emerged into a spacious area inside the cave that looked like a plaza. Apparently, it was a safety zone.
We took a break here to have lunch.
"Young master Reinhardt, thank you for teaching me an effective way to use barrier magic. Now I can contribute more to the group." Said Linka.
"Linka, what are you talking about? You're already doing plenty. But now that we'll be able to subjugate enemies even more efficiently, we might finally achieve our long-cherished A-rank." Said Allie.
"That's right. If the three men can also learn to use magic, our offensive capabilities will broaden, and we might finally reach the A-rank we've dreamed of." Added Linka.
It seemed Linka had felt frustrated that she could only defend and not join in on the attacks, so I was glad to see her happy.
"From here on, the bronze golems will change types. They're about one meter tall, covered entirely in bronze except for their heads. They're armed with swords and will attack with them. They also have high jumping ability. With Hardt and Canal's magic, you can damage the bronze but not destroy it, so aim for the head to stop their movement, and leave finishing them off to us—or just observe.” Brother Gerald explained.
At first, we decided to observe and join in if we thought we could handle it.
After leaving the plaza, the cave walls began to resemble bronze. It might be harder to tell the difference between rock and golem now.
As I thought there was a protruding rock ahead, it started moving—it was a bronze golem. Five of them in total.
Brother Gerald, Meyer, and Wilson calmly decapitated them with Wind Cutter and Water Cutter, and then destroyed the magic stones embedded in their chests with their swords once their movements slowed.
If you don't destroy the magic stone, the golem would regenerate after five minutes, apparently.
Canal, Atre, Lipka, and I handled them, and for the ones we couldn’t deal with, we asked Brother Gerald and the others for help.
Next, eight of them came charging toward us, swords raised.
We launched Water Balls, Ice Balls, and Fire Balls. Atre managed to land a hit, but the others dodged.
Even when we continued firing, the shots that hit their bodies or limbs just bounced off.
As they got too close, Brother Gerald and the others beheaded them with magic and destroyed their chest magic stones.
The loot was eight bronze plates, each 20cm long, 20cm wide, and 10cm thick.
Unfortunately, it seemed this part was just for observation.
On this floor, since enemies only come from the front, it’s supposedly safe if you stay in the back.
When we looked disappointed,
"Why are you down when you're only eight years old and G-rank? Normally, you wouldn't even make it this far.” Said Linka.
"You guys were subjugating so smoothly, I was starting to worry about our place in the group.” Said Allie.
That's right. Canal and I still have a long way to go in terms of mana level.
Even just observing is a good learning experience. Let’s enjoy the dungeon.
Next, the Golden Wings were going to handle the enemies alone.
More than twenty bronze golems came from the front.
Linka began hurling volleyball-sized Ice Balls one after another at the bronze golems.
When an Ice Ball hit a golem’s torso with a *thud*, it would dent the body or even destroy the head.
As she kept firing Ice Balls continuously, the bronze golems started dropping to their knees one after another.
The three men destroyed the magic stones with their swords or fought one-on-one to defeat them.
"We finally managed to show off a little:” Salem said to Canal and me.
"We hadn't really gotten the chance to show ourselves defeating them with swords."
"If this kept up, we might have been suspected of not being true B-ranks.” Gregory and Will added.
Did we try too hard?
Well, we'll be climbing to higher floors from here, so there will probably be even more times where we’re just observing...
Now, it’s the boss room.
Thanks to how strong the adults were, we arrived in no time.
There was one Giant Bronze Golem here.
It was three meters tall. Huge.
Because it was so big, it moved slowly, but except for the face, its entire body was covered in bronze.
Even if we hit the face with magic, only a small portion would crumble and then immediately regenerate.
Thus, it was faster for everyone to target the magic stone in its chest with magic and destroy it.
When we opened the boss room door, the Giant Bronze Golem dropped down from the ceiling with a *thud*.
Yeah, it was huge.
Everyone fired magic at the magic stone in the chest all at once, but even when it hit, it only chipped it slightly.
Apparently, the magic stone was really hard too.
Even just walking with a *thud, thud* created loud sounds and tremors.
The tremors made it hard to stay steady, making it likely for spells to miss.
Still, everyone kept firing spells repeatedly to destroy the magic stone.
When the magic stone was about halfway destroyed, the Giant Bronze Golem stopped walking, but then it began swinging its arms violently, creating gusts of wind that made it even harder for our magic to land.
"Hamilton and Kamuela, don't you have mithril swords yet? If it's mithril, you might be able to cut through the bronze!" I shouted, since I was near Brother Gerald and a bit farther away from them.
"I do have one. Though I haven't fully mastered it yet.” Said Hamilton.
"Can you try cutting off its arms?"
"I'll give it a try."
While the Golden Wings men distracted the Giant Bronze Golem by slashing at its stomach and legs, Hamilton approached and sliced off its left arm in one clean stroke.
It was a neat, clean cut. The left arm didn't regenerate and remained fallen.
Continuing while the Golden Wings kept distracting it, Hamilton also severed its right arm.
After the Golden Wings and Hamilton backed away, everyone unleashed magic at the Giant Bronze Golem's magic stone all at once, shattering it.
The Giant Bronze Golem disappeared, and the loot was twenty bronze ingots.
