Eminira Dungeon (8)
This boss room contains monsters called Kemu, which are about two meters in length.
Their bodies are soft, and they spray a sticky slime. If you accidentally ingest this slime, it causes stomachaches, headaches, and nausea.
When you slash their soft bodies with a sword, the slime splatters everywhere.
The best way to defeat them seems to be burning them with fire.
It’s said there are usually around five of them in the boss room.
Think of them as giant slugs. If fire works, then boiling water should be effective too.
Canal, Brother Gerald, Ripka, and I will each take one of them, but there's still one left. What should we do?
“Wilson, can you produce boiling water with your water magic?” I asked Wilson, who was standing behind me.
“I was trained hard by Commander Arcland, so yes, I can.” He replied.
“Then take care of one Kemu. I said, and the plan was set. While we waited for our turn, we had lunch.
Lunch was meat seasoned and sandwiched in bread—easy to eat while standing.
After finishing lunch and drinking some water to relax, our turn finally came, and we opened the door—but there were no Kemus.
Suddenly, Kemus emerged from the ceiling and side walls. They had two tentacle-like things—maybe eyes?
Just as I thought, they really do look like oversized slugs.
I rapidly fired boiling Waterballs at the Kemu heading toward me.
The areas that got hit started to harden, and it seemed to struggle to move.
Without delay, I kept targeting different spots, including its face.
Gradually, its whole body stiffened and it stopped moving.
When I looked around, Ripka was still firing Fireballs at his, but the Kemu's movements were getting slower, so it would be over soon.
Just when I thought it was finished, two more Kemus suddenly dropped from the ceiling with a thud.
Seriously, wasn’t it supposed to be an average of five? This is a scam. No fake-outs, please!! I cursed in my heart, but we had to take them down.
“Hardt and Canal, take the one on the right. I’ll take the one on the left.” Brother Gerald ordered.
Panicking a little, Canal and I started firing boiling Waterballs at the Kemu on the right, trying not to overlap our attacks.
After we safely took it down, it turned into loot—two swords.
Looks like that was really the end.
“The boss room's usual drop is iron ingots, but this time we got two swords, one large and one small. It might be a special drop because of the two extra Kemus that appeared.” Said Mayer to me.
“Hey, Brother Gerald, can I give the small sword to Canal?”
“I’m fine with it, but we need approval from Golden Wings. You can’t decide on your own.
Also, if it comes from you, they might not feel like they can refuse.
You need to be mindful of your actions going forward.” He cautioned me.
I had never worked with anyone outside the knight order before, so I said it like I usually would.
But Brother Gerald was right—I need to be more careful. I reflected on that.
“We don’t mind. Canal has been doing his part in the battle.” Said Mr. Salem.
The other Golden Wings members nodded in agreement.
“Canal, now you can practice with a real sword.”
“Thank you, Hardt.”
“Canal, this sword won’t last long. Once you grow, it won’t suit you anymore.
So make sure you save money for the future.” Mr. Salem advised.
“Thank you, Mr. Salem, everyone. I’ll take good care of it.” Canal said, bowing his head to us.
“Canal, make sure you train hard. We’re going to whip you into shape.” Said Mr. Gregory, ruffling Canal’s hair.
The people in Golden Wings are really kind.
