What Kind of Magic Does Captain Kyle use?
"I bid you farewell.”

I said, but the young Fenrir wouldn’t move.
No matter how many times I said it, it didn’t move.
With no other choice, we decided to move ahead. As we began walking toward the fortress, the Fenrir pup followed us.

"Hey, you can’t come with us. You have to return to where you were living.”

I tried explaining, but it kept following.

Looking at my brothers for help, they seemed to understand my dilemma.

"Perhaps the young Fenrir has chosen to stay with you, Hardt. After all, you healed its wounds.”

"Take it with you. When it gets bigger and you can no longer stay together, you can instruct it to return to the forest.”

Captain Kyle nodded in agreement, so I turned to the young Fenrir and said,

"If you come with me, you won’t be able to run freely like before. And when you grow as big as the adult Fenrir, we won’t be able to stay together. You must promise to return to the forest then. If you’re okay with that, let’s be together.”

I said, holding out my hands.

The young Fenrir leapt into my arms.

"Father and Mother will be surprised. They might oppose it, so big brothers better back me up.”

"In two years, I’ll be enrolling in the academy, and you’ll be left alone. It’s good that you now have a perfect playmate.”Said Brother Chris

"They’ll be surprised, but it’ll be fine. This one is very clever. Also, you need to give it a name. It’s a bit sad to keep calling it ‘young Fenrir’”. Added Brother Gerald.

Meyer looked puzzled.

"Why could Young master Reinhardt hear the Fenrir’s cries when we couldn’t?"
"It might be compatibility. We need to hurry back to the fortress, reorganize the troops, and confirm the situation of those who went to the mountainside. Also, I’m curious about the magic beast that took down the adult Fenrir. We need to investigate.” Captain Kyle said.

We quickly made our way back to the fortress.

At the fortress, Captain Kyle went to report to the Commander at the knights’ quarters, while Knight Hunt headed to the Adventurers' Guild.
The rest of us entered the knights’ quarters with the young Fenrir to take a break.

"Hardt, your first experience in the forest turned into quite an ordeal.” My brothers said, laughing.

"Even for me, who’s been to the forest before, this was a first.”

"By the way, I didn’t get to ask in the forest, but Captain Kyle’s magic, which controls plants, is incredible. What attribute is it? I didn’t know magic like that existed," I asked, curious.

Brother Chris explained, "Captain Kyle only has water magic. That ability to control plants is a blessing from the God of Plants."

The difference between magic and blessings is that magic is inherited from parents or lineage, while blessings are unique to the individual, granted as a divine favor, and do not pass on to descendants. Only about one in ten thousand people receive a blessing.

Famous blessings include appraisal from the Sage God, weather reading from the Sky God, navigation skills from the Sea God, control over plants from the God of Plants, and alchemical skills from the Medicine God. Blessings are also identified during the mana appraisal ceremony held at the age of eight.

This country, while not as religiously homogeneous as Japan in my past life, worships many gods, including the Creator God who made this world and various gods related to daily life.

As we chatted over snacks, the young Fenrir looked at us with a longing gaze.

"Do you want some?"

I asked, and it barked softly. I placed a sandwich with ham on a plate for it, and it finished it in about two bites.

Seeing it still looking hungry, I gave it more.

"You must’ve been starving. Hadn’t eaten in a while, huh?"

"If its parent managed to reach the clearing with that injury, it might not have eaten anything since the fight,” Brother Chris speculated.

"Brother Chris, I just thought of this now, but is it okay to feed Fenrir regular human food?"

"Well, it’s eating it happily, so it should be fine. If it couldn’t eat it, it would leave it untouched. Anyway, let’s rest now. Once Captain Kyle returns, we’ll head back to the mansion."

About an hour later, Captain Kyle came to us.

"Thank you for waiting. We’ll be returning to the mansion now. The horses have been moved to the front of the knights’ quarters, so let’s head out.”

"How’s the team that went to the mountainside?"

"I signaled them to return to the fortress, and it seems they’re all safe. However, we remain on alert and have sent reinforcements to join them and ensure their safe return."

"There’s nothing more we can do, so let’s head back to the mansion. If we’re late, Father and Mother will worry.”

When the young Fenrir approached the horses, they became frightened and restless.
I asked the young Fenrir to do something, and when it barked at the horses, they immediately calmed down.

"Thank you. We’re heading to the house where I live. I hope you’ll like it."
