I Can Leave Everything to the Excellent Ones
The next day, I arrived at the detached office.
Raziel and a cute young woman in her early twenties with brunette hair stood up from the sofa.
Raziel explained that even if she wasn’t hired, she had already formed a contract magic to ensure she wouldn’t speak about today’s events, and then he introduced her to me.

"Nice to meet you. My name is Maria Mugmica," she said, her voice trembling slightly with nervousness.

I had her sit on the sofa and tell me about her background.

Miss Mugmica graduated from a magic tool academy with excellent grades and worked at a well-known magic tool shop in the royal capital.
She enjoyed development work and proposed improvements to the magic tools at the shop where she was employed.
However, the shop told her, "Just make the requested magic tools. If you can't, then leave." Finding it difficult to stay, she moved to another shop.

At the new shop, she was afraid that if she left in the same way as before, she might not be able to work in the royal capital anymore, so she never mentioned magic tool modifications at all.
However, one day, while out drinking with the shop’s magic tool artisans, she talked about modified magic tools to a senior male colleague, thinking he was seriously interested. She was happy to share her ideas.

Sometime later, that senior magic tool artisan submitted a modified magic tool to the shop, claiming it as his own work, and it was put up for sale.
When she protested, he demanded proof and instead began harassing her, ultimately forcing her to quit.

When I asked how she met Raziel, she explained that she overheard him at the royal capital’s Commercial Guild reception, looking for someone capable of enchantment magic. Since she had been searching for work at the time, she volunteered herself.

"Raziel, did you bring her here intending to make her an employee of the new company from the start?"

Raziel gave a wry smile.

"You figured it out? Actually, at the mansion in the royal capital, Young master Chrisford showed me the charms and book bands. I thought it would be interesting to sell versions with defensive enchantments."

"Miss Mugmica, you can use enchantment magic too? That’s amazing. By the way, about magic tool development—I have a few ideas.
For example, hair irons currently use charcoal, right? What if we replaced that with magic stones and made the temperature adjustable in two (medium, high) or three (low, medium, high) settings? Without the need for charcoal, it could be made into a handheld type, making ironing easier without the risk of burns.
And how about a magic tool using wind and fire magic stones to dry hair? Something like this," I said, handing her a drawing.

It was essentially a hair iron and a hair dryer from Japan.
When I asked the servants, I learned that irons were the pot-type, requiring charcoal to be placed inside. They were prone to causing burns and difficult to hold for long periods.

As for drying hair, I usually have Georges use wind magic to dry mine, but most people let their hair air dry since not everyone can use wind magic.

As I spoke, Miss Mugmica’s cheeks gradually flushed, and she stared intently at the paper I had drawn on.

"A hair iron and a hair-drying magic tool? I want to make both! Please let me do it!" she said, bowing so low her forehead nearly touched the table.

"Start with whichever seems easier to make. We'll have our household staff use the prototypes and refine them further. That way, there’s no risk of information leaking outside.
For materials, just tell Raziel what you need, and he’ll get them. However, I also want you to work on enchanting the charms at the same time."

"Thank you! I think I can complete the iron quickly, so I’d like to start with that. I'll do my best to meet your expectations. And please, just call me Maria."

"By the way, Maria, are you renting a place?"

"No, I'm still staying at an inn. I was planning to look for a place once I was officially hired."

"Raziel, what should we do? We don’t have employee housing, right?"

"Actually, I’ve already consulted Madam. She has given permission for Maria to move into the servants’ quarters. Additionally, we have approval to use an unused semi-basement workshop as a magic tool development room."

How competent—he handled everything for me.
