Dungeon Complete
The next day, we climbed the stairs back up to the first floor and teleported from the transfer room there to the tenth floor’s transfer room.
It was a two-night, three-day dungeon trip, but it feels like we were in the dungeon for a much longer time.
Since we hadn’t had breakfast yet, we ate at the dining hall of the lodging facility. Canal and the others joined us too.
After the meal:
“Hardt, I’ve rented a room. You can relax there while we’re at the Adventurers’ Guild exchanging the loot.” Said Brother Gerald.
So it was decided that Canal, Allie, Linka, Atre and Ripka, Mayer and Wilson, and I would wait in the room.
“There are a lot of adventurers here, so it will take time to cash in loot. And we’ve got a lot this time too.” Said Linka.
“There are also lots of guys who mess with you just because you’re a woman. I’m glad we’re not waiting in the guild this time.” Added Allie.
“I wonder how long it takes to increase your adventurer rank.”
Dungeon subjugations are automatically recorded on your Adventurers’ Guild card, while for places like the Great Forest or other forests, if you show a proof of subjugation (a part of the monster), the guild will register it to your card.
So that’s why we don’t need to go to the Adventurers’ Guild this time—makes sense.
That just leaves checking how much my mana level has gone up.
“Status open.” I said, taking out the slate.
“”Young master Reinhardt.”” Mayer and Wilson exclaimed in unison.
Huh? What? I tilted my head.
“What’s that, Reinhardt?” asked Canal.
Oh no—right, the slate hasn’t been made public yet except among nobles and our knight order. I messed up.
But eventually everyone’s going to know about it anyway, and Golden Wings should be fine. I’ll just ask them to keep quiet until the official announcement.
Dad’s probably going to scold me, though…
“So when you say ‘status open,’ you can see your mana level and mana amount?” Allie asked excitedly.
When I nodded in response, Allie, Linka, and Canal all said together:
“”Status open.””
Slates appeared in front of each of them.
After confirming that their slates had appeared, I looked at my own.
Mana Level: Water 15, Healing 2
Mana Amount: 8417
Looks like my water level went up by five in this dungeon. Practicing helps, but field experience boosts it even faster.
Since I didn’t use any healing magic, that one’s unchanged from training. I really should practice defensive magic more.
I put the slate away and asked Canal and the others for their thoughts.
They said that while just seeing the slate doesn’t let them compare their level to others, they’re happy that they can now track how much they improve going forward.
I know I’m one to talk, but I asked Canal not to tell his parents about the slate until the official announcement, and also asked Allie and Linka not to show it around casually.
“If the guys could check their slates too, I bet they’d work harder on their magic training.” Said Linka.
“I’m sure the Adventurers’ Guild will implement it eventually, but it would be really motivating if we could see the mana level and amount for each rank.” Said Allie.
Looks like Captain Kyle’s group came back too.
After having lunch, we’ll head back to Eminira.
This is where we part ways with Canal and Golden Wings.
It seems we’ve agreed to split the rewards from the loot between our group and Golden Wings.
At first, Mr. Salem and the others tried to decline, saying they hadn’t contributed that much, but we insisted on the split since they’d been a huge help in moving together with us.
Brother Gerald scolded me about the slate.
He told me that when acting with people outside the family or the Knights Order I need to be more careful with my words and actions.
I can’t behave like usual—we’re going to be meeting many different people from now on, so I need to be cautious.
He was completely right, so I apologized.
Captain Kyle’s group got more mithril than expected thanks to increasing their numbers, but it’s still not enough.
They want to stay longer next time.
Not sure if I’ll go again—that’s up to Father.
If I’m allowed to, I’d like to go. I’ve learned that actual combat raises your magic levels much faster.
Three weeks later, it was decided that we’re going to the dungeon again.
Same as before, we’ll be with Golden Wings and Canal.
This time, we’ve officially requested Golden Wings to act as escorts.
Even for the previous trip, I heard they were paid an escort fee afterwards.
Father and the others did scold me for showing the slate in front of Golden Wings and Canal, but since the feature is going to be made public soon, I was only lightly warned to be more careful in the future.
Looks like I can take it easy until the next dungeon trip in three weeks.
