Fluffy Masters
The day after I wrote a letter begging for more, Raphael sent me a whole dozen (12) jars of curry powder.
Raphael is so generous!! As expected of my best friend.

Now that I had some to spare, I sent two extra jars to the Northstrad family, since I might’ve caused them some trouble.
I also gave one more jar to Brother Chris.

Then Brother Chris asked, “Can I invite three of my friends you also know, Hardt, over for a meal?” He said he wanted to make curry dishes.
Apparently, they’ve been helping him out—taking notes for him when he had to miss class and so on.

Also, Young master Rainhall (the Prime Minister's son) said he wanted to try the collaborative dish before its release.
The three of them are training every day to raise their magic levels and even go into dungeons on their days off.

Since Brother Chris is helping out too, I’ll offer him another jar of curry powder.
We’ll have the household staff enjoy whatever is left over. We're planning to do the same in the provincial capital, so it wouldn’t be fair if we didn’t do it in the royal capital too.

On a school holiday, Young master Rainhall, Young master Maxwell, and Young master Jarrett came over.
I thought they’d arrive around noon, but they came around 10 o’clock.
Brother Chris called for me, so I went to greet the three of them.

“Hardt, Maxwell has something he wants to talk to you about.”

“Reinhardt, lend me your familiars.”

“… Excuse me?”

According to Brother Chris, although they’ve been subjugating monsters in dungeons, they haven’t fought any high-tier ones yet.
They’re worried about being a burden when they go to the Great Forest, so they want to have some sparring practice.

I told them I’d go ask Atre and went to find him.

Atre, Ciel, and Bianca were in the garden playing—dodging Ciel’s ice magic using wind magic from Atre and Bianca.
When I told Atre about Young master Maxwell’s request, he said the three of them would do it.

I looked over at Ciel and Bianca—Ciel flapped his wings, scattering ice through the air, and Bianca cast wind magic in an attention-seeking display.
They were totally fired up.

Since we decided to have one match before lunch, we moved to the knights’ training grounds.
Team Atre, Ciel, and Bianca vs. Young master Maxwell and the others.

First, Young master Maxwell shot a single Waterball at them. Bianca sliced it in half with a Wind Cutter.
Next, he launched three Waterballs at once. Ciel dodged them midair, and Atre and Bianca deflected them with wind magic, sending them flying back toward Young master Maxwell—Young master Jarrett quickly cast a defensive spell to block them.

Then, both Young master Rainhall and Young master Maxwell launched three Fireballs and three Water Shots at the trio.
Ciel blew away all three Water Shots with Ice Balls from her mouth.
The Fireballs were slashed away by Atre and Bianca’s Wind Cutters.

After that, they continued to repel the attacks from Young masters Maxwell and Rainhall, occasionally sending them back, while Young master Jarrett kept putting up defenses.
Ciel being strong makes sense—he’s fully grown—but I didn’t realize our little ones were this strong?

We had lunch in the dining hall.
The requested curry dishes (soup curry and meat rubbed with curry powder) were prepared, and the rest was left to the head chef.
Atre and the others got to eat curry too.

“This flavor is addictive. I’ve never tasted anything like it. This will definitely catch on.”

“Getting to try it before it hits the market—thank you, Chrisford.”

“It’s delicious. More than that, we can spar again with our masters this afternoon. I didn’t stand a chance. I thought I could put up a better fight…”

Young master Maxwell… Since when did Atre and the others become your masters?

In the afternoon too, Atre’s team and Young master Maxwell’s team took turns attacking each other.
Our kids were still bursting with energy.

I wonder if I should arrange something similar for the mages when we return to the provincial capital.
It’s not like we go to the Great Forest all that often, but I’ll ask Atre and the others later.

“That was good training. We’ve still got a long way to go. Thank you, Masters,” Young master Maxwell said as he and the others left.
Atre and the others seemed quite pleased to be called “masters.”
