Asha (2)
A few days later.

Maryne decided to look for a leader capable of running the skincare cosmetics business.

For now, she decided to consult Yumia, who seemed well-connected in merchant circles.

“So, long story short, I’m searching for someone capable of leading a new business venture. Do you happen to know anyone suitable?”

“A leader… for a new business?”

Yumia’s eyes widened slightly before she answered.

“There actually is someone I’ve been wanting to introduce to you, Lady Maryne…”

“Oh? What kind of person is she?”

“She’s a friend of mine named Asha. She’s the daughter of a merchant family.”

Yumia briefly explained Asha’s background.

Maryne nodded once and replied:

“I see… I would like to speak with her at least once. Could you arrange a meeting for me?”

“Understood. I’ll let Asha know.”

And so, Maryne ended up arranging a meeting with Asha.

Several more days later.

In the reception room of the company office.

A young woman sat before Maryne.

Rhinos was present as well, standing behind Maryne.

The woman greeted her.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you. My name is Asha. Thank you for taking the time to see me today.”

“The pleasure is mine, Miss Asha.”

Maryne conducted an interview with Asha.

Her motivation toward business.

Her past experience.

Upper-class manners.

Social etiquette.

Education and refinement.

Maryne carefully asked about each topic one by one.

Asha’s answers were solid.

Being the daughter of a merchant family, she was also good with numbers.

(She seems capable enough to entrust with things.)

Lastly, there was one thing Maryne absolutely wanted to ask.

“Miss Asha, what do you believe is the single most important thing in business?”

Asha thought for a moment before answering.

“An unbreakable spirit.”

“… Hmm?”

“I believe business has its highs and lows… but no matter the situation, I want to value the determination to keep fighting and never give up.”

Asha was the daughter of a small merchant company.

Her life had not always been smooth sailing.

She had grown up watching her mother push through those hardships.

Asha knew that if one possessed the strength not to give up, they could overcome adversity.

“I see.”

Maryne replied.

Asha possessed abundant knowledge and refinement cultivated as a merchant’s daughter.

And yet, her answer had been that, in the end, mental fortitude was what mattered most.

Smiling, Maryne decided to appoint her.

“Miss Asha. I intend to launch a new business venture. This would only be a provisional appointment for now, but I would like to entrust you with leading it. Would you accept?”

“...!”

Asha’s eyes widened.

Then she nodded firmly.

“Of course! I’d be honored to!”

Maryne nodded and continued:

“Then I would like to explain the business to you tomorrow. Please come to this company office tomorrow morning at ten.”

“Understood,”

Asha replied.

And with that, the meeting with Asha came to an end.

As Asha departed…

Rhinos muttered quietly:

“I’m glad the hiring went well.”

“Yes. Miss Asha is a very promising talent. I’m certain she’ll lead my project splendidly.”

That was the expectation Maryne voiced.
