Property
A few days later.
Rhinos brought together a list of candidate properties in the royal capital.
“There are two properties in the eastern district of the royal capital that meet your requirements.”
Maryne looked through the documents.
The first was in a calm location slightly removed from the city center.
The second faced a district frequently visited by the royal capital’s upper class.
(No need to even hesitate.)
That was what Maryne thought.
“We’ll take the second one.”
“Understood. I’ll begin the purchase procedures immediately.”
“I’ll leave it in your hands. Please proceed as quickly as possible.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Rhinos moved that very same day.
When he got serious, any kind of procedure was resolved with astonishing speed.
In fact, the purchase was completed only three days later.
“Lady Maryne. The property purchase has been completed.”
“As expected of you!”
Maryne immediately went to visit the new royal capital office.
It was a neat four-story brick building.
Maryne arranged each floor one by one.
… The first floor was the reception lobby and guest room.
A place for receiving visitors and handling the company’s business in the royal capital.
… The second floor was the salon hall.
This was the most important space for the current project.
Still, she decided to postpone decorating the interior for now.
… The third floor was office space and meeting rooms.
They would be used for work and meetings.
… The fourth floor was Maryne’s private room.
It included a bed, a writing desk, and a comfortable living room.
This would become her base whenever she stayed in the royal capital.
(I need to make it comfortable enough for Firuru to live here too!)
First, she worked on furnishing her private room.
Once that was done, it was finally time to prepare the salon hall.
First, she gave the floor warm wooden paneling.
The walls were based around a calm deep green, accented with gold trim.
The windows were made large so plenty of outside light could pour in.
Several round tables were placed in the center.
The arrangement made it easy for guests to split into small groups and converse.
Paintings, including landscapes, were displayed along the walls.
(Well, this should do nicely enough.)
The salon hall’s interior preparations were complete.
“All right. Then this is where we’ll hold the very first salon!”
Rather than leaving the guest arrangements to Rhinos, Maryne decided to handle them personally.
She sent invitations to noblewomen living in the royal capital, centering around Princess Sheralnia.
She also invited musicians and artists.
Once word spread that Sheralnia would be participating, the invited guests reacted exactly as expected.
“Her Highness the Princess will be there…?”
“Then I would absolutely love to attend.”
“A ‘small social gathering’ hosted by Lady Maryne… how intriguing.”
The participants gathered all at once.
