New Business
Maryne gave Firuru a gentle stroke, then sat down at the table.
(Now then… this is where things really begin.)
She spread out the ledgers and documents.
Time to assess the current situation.
Three macaron shops.
Three pudding shops.
A total of six stores under management.
Sales at all of them were strong.
Every day they were either completely sold out, or close to it.
Employee training was progressing, and store operations were stabilizing.
(The macaron and pudding shops can run just fine under Yumia alone now, even without me.)
Maryne made that judgment calmly.
She wanted to start her next business.
But if she stayed tied up with the current operations, she wouldn’t have the time to begin anything new.
(I’ll entrust the current business entirely to someone else. That way, I can free up time to work on the next venture.)
Delegation.
An extremely important decision for a business owner.
Build a system that runs without you, and then focus on something else.
(I’ll fully entrust Yumia with overseeing all six stores, macarons and pudding alike.)
Having settled on that, Maryne began thinking about her next move.
(Macarons and pudding are both low-priced items. A high-volume, low-margin business model. The profit rate isn’t bad, but the earnings per item are small.)
Next, she wanted to try a high-priced product.
That desire started swelling up inside her.
(If I target wealthy customers, I can significantly raise the price per item. And more importantly, I can build connections with people beyond the Flamsteed family’s circle.)
That second point mattered more.
The Flamsteed family was already well-connected among the upper class, but not with everyone.
The value of gaining new connections and pipelines would be immeasurable.
(So rather than ultra-luxury items that cost ten million dirin each… ideally, something in the 100,000 to 300,000 range. Affordable, but premium. And something customers can purchase regularly…)
Maryne searched through her memories from her previous life.
Her mother’s company.
A business that planned and sold daily goods and cosmetics.
(… That’s it. Cosmetics!)
The idea struck her.
(In this world, skincare basically amounts to applying herbal ointments. But with knowledge from my previous life, I can create far higher-quality skincare products.)
When it came to skincare, there were staples.
Toner. Serum. Emulsion.
Things that had been completely normal in her previous life.
But didn’t exist in this world.
(Upper-class ladies care deeply about beauty. If I offer high-quality skincare, they’ll jump at it without a doubt.)
Maryne immediately began designing her cosmetic products.
Then she spent several days gathering the necessary materials.
(Extracts from the plants and flowers in this world can be used too. If I combine that with knowledge from my previous life…)
In her private room…
She activated her production magic.
Using her past-life knowledge, she carefully worked through each prototype.
And then…
“It’s done!”
Toner.
Serum.
Emulsion.
Three types of skincare products were complete.
Clear liquids, stored in small glass bottles.
She considered trying them herself first, but…
(There’s no point in me using them.)
An eight-year-old’s skin was already soft and flawless without any skincare.
So instead, she decided to have someone else try them.
She called over a maid at random.
“Use these, please.”
“Eh?”
The maid looked confused, so Maryne explained how to use them.
First, wash your face.
Apply the toner.
Layer on the serum.
Finish with the emulsion.
Good. That should do it.
“……”
The next day.
Morning.
The maid rushed over to Maryne, visibly excited.
“Lady Maryne! What is this!? My-my skin looks so amazing!?”
“It really does look radiant!”
The texture of the maid’s skin was clearly different.
When Maryne touched it, it felt like her fingers were being gently pulled in, soft, smooth, almost adhesive.
(This will sell. No question about it.)
Maryne was certain.
