To the Royal Capital
The Royal Capital was an even larger city than the Secondary Capital.
As their carriage advanced down the broad highway, a gigantic outer wall eventually came into view…
And beyond it, several spires of the royal castle pierced into the sky.
Yumia stared out the window and quietly murmured,
“... It’s huge.”
“Yes.”
Maryne looked out the window as well.
(I visited places called “Royal Capitals” countless times in the game, but... this is my first time coming to one since being reincarnated.)
The moment they passed through the main gate in the outer wall, the scenery changed completely.
Stone-paved roads.
Buildings lined up in orderly rows.
Crowds of people moved back and forth everywhere, lively and bustling with energy.
(I see... the scale really is on a different level.)
Maryne quietly observed everything, continuously taking mental notes.
(The number of wealthy people in the Royal Capital is incomparable to the Secondary Capital. Opening a store here in the future is absolutely essential. I should gather as much information as possible during this visit.)
Eventually, the carriage stopped in front of the royal castle’s main gate.
“The castle’s huge...”
Yumia climbed down from the carriage with a pale face.
“Are you nervous?”
“Y-Yes. Very...”
Yumia answered in a trembling voice.
Maryne gave a wry smile and said,
“After you greet Her Highness the Princess with a single sentence, you can move to the corner of the room with Rhinos and simply stand there like an ornament afterward. You can manage at least that much, can’t you?”
“I-I’ll do my best!”
Yumia replied.
Maryne nodded once and began walking forward.
Rhinos followed behind her.
Yumia stumbled along beside him, nearly tangling her feet as she walked.
Before the audience, Maryne carefully checked the tribute gift she had prepared.
The souvenir she’d brought this time was a new selection of sweets personally made by Maryne herself.
Confections created through production magic, unlike anything that existed in this world.
She had used luxurious ingredients without sparing any expense.
(This is a gift for Her Highness the Princess. Using nothing but cheap ingredients would be terribly rude.)
Every time she attended dinners with nobles or major merchants, Maryne always prepared handmade sweets as gifts.
She understood very well that doing so both showed respect for the other party and served as advertising for her products.
This time, she had polished everything with exceptional care.
Something that would enter the princess’s mouth. There would be no compromise.
---
The hall they were guided into had a high ceiling.
Intricately painted artwork decorated the walls.
Sunlight streaming through the windows cast lattice-like patterns across the white floor.
And in the center of the room.
A single woman sat across a table.
She was about 168 centimeters tall.
Long blackish-purple hair.
Sharp violet eyes.
Her features were beautiful.
A sense of sharpness and composure drifted from her very presence.
Maryne bowed politely.
Beside her, she could see Yumia trembling as she deeply lowered her head as well.
“I am Maryne Flamsteed. It is an honor to have been invited today. This here is Miss Yumia, who oversees the sweets division of my company.”
“I-I’m Yumia...! I-I would be honored if you would remember me!!”
After briefly glancing at Yumia, Sheralnia stared at Maryne for a while.
Then the corners of her lips relaxed slightly.
“You’re tiny.”
“I am eight years old, after all.”
“Hehe. That’s true.”
Sheralnia let out a small laugh.
