Sheet Music
Then, at that moment, Sheralnia spoke.
“This piece… where exactly did you hear it? Or did you compose it yourself?”
At Sheralnia’s question, the musicians reacted sharply and leaned forward.
Maryne answered.
“Neither. This piece is something that was handed down from long ago… I merely recreated it here.”
By “long ago,” of course, she meant her previous life.
She couldn’t exactly reveal that she was a reincarnator, so she kept that part to herself.
Then a male musician asked her.
“Do you have the sheet music?”
“I do.”
“I would love to see it!”
The musicians all leaned forward one after another.
“Me too!”
“Me as well!”
“Me too!”
Not only the musicians, but also artists and nobles raised their voices.
As the murmur spread through the room, Maryne answered calmly.
“I would love to respond to everyone’s requests immediately… however, I intend to release the sheet music later in the form of sales.”
“Sales…?”
“Yes. I am a businesswoman, after all, so I’m thinking of making a profit through selling sheet music. …Incidentally, I also plan to sell a guidebook on how to write sheet music at the same time.”
“How to write sheet music!?”
The musicians became agitated.
Sheet music does exist in this world.
However, the way to write it is not standardized, or it is overly simplified, and the overall level is low.
“The piece I performed earlier contains techniques that do not exist in the music currently circulating in the market. I intend to publish a book explaining how to express such techniques, and how to translate them into sheet music, tentatively titled New Treatise on Notation.”
The musicians in the room fell silent for a while.
Maryne continued.
“So if anyone would like my sheet music, or the New Treatise on Notation I just mentioned, please wait until my shop opens!”
And with that, Maryne concluded her speech.
Sheralnia narrowed her eyes, the corners of her lips faintly softening.
(Now that’s something.)
She silently praised Maryne.
And then…
The talk about Maryne’s music ended, and the salon officially began.
Sweets were served, and topics of art, culture, and philosophy flowed freely through the room.
The noble ladies remained cheerful throughout, while the musicians and artists were absorbed in discussing the melody and the sheet music.
Before long, it was time for the event to close, and the participants began to leave one after another.
Sheralnia stood up.
As Maryne approached to see her off, Sheralnia lowered her gaze slightly and looked at her.
“It was an enjoyable event.”
That was all she said.
“Thank you very much, Your Highness.”
Maryne bowed deeply.
“If you ever present new pieces in the future, make sure to invite me as well.”
Sheralnia smiled faintly and left the room.
Watching her back go, Maryne made a small fist pump.
(It worked!!)
The first salon had, for now, ended in success.
