Store Expansion
Maryne also sprang into action immediately.
(Even if I say we’ll increase macaron production, there’s a limit to how long I can keep producing everything by myself. I’ll need to hire pastry chefs and teach them how to make macarons.)
Maryne gathered confectioners together with Rhinos.
Those with skill.
Those eager to try new things.
However, there was one absolute condition.
“You must not leak the macaron recipe to anyone outside. That one rule must be obeyed.”
Maryne imposed confidentiality on the pastry chefs she had assembled.
“Can you promise me that?”
“Of course.”
“I have no objection.”
But a verbal promise alone was not enough.
This world had something called Contract Magic.
If someone violated an agreement made through Contract Magic, magical penalties would activate.
It was magic with a powerful binding force.
Maryne formed Contract Magic agreements with every single pastry chef.
Now there was no need to worry about the macaron recipe leaking outside.
Then Maryne generously taught them how to make macarons.
How to make almond powder.
How to make the cream filling.
How to flavor them with strawberries and blueberries.
She carefully taught them every single step of the process.
The pastry chefs were all highly skilled craftsmen.
They learned fast.
Before long, they were able to make macarons at the quality Maryne demanded.
And so, a mass-production system was established.
The time it took to get this far was only four days.
Recruiting workers, selecting them, contracting them, training them, and establishing mass production.
She had accomplished all of it in just four days.
“Quick decisions, quick judgment, quick action! In business, speed is everything!”
Maryne declared proudly.
On top of that, Maryne also helped with preparations for the second store that Yumia was managing.
Interior renovations for the property.
Procuring equipment.
Hiring and training employees.
Every part Yumia couldn’t handle alone, Maryne picked up one after another.
An eight-year-old girl was coolly handling tasks that were anything but easy.
And Maryne herself didn’t look troubled in the slightest.
If anything, she looked like she was having fun.
… And then, ten days later.
In the eastern district of the capital, [Maryne’s Macarons Second Store] opened.
At the first store, a huge number of macarons had gone unsold on opening day...
But at the second store, there was a line from day one.
Because the name “Maryne’s Macarons” had already begun spreading throughout the capital.
“Amazing... to sell this much on the very first day...”
Yumia murmured in a daze.
“Of course! After all, my macarons are the strongest!”
Maryne declared with total confidence.
“Now then, next comes the third store!”
“The third store already!?”
“Of course! We’re still nowhere near enough!”
And so, one week later…
A third store opened in the southern district.
Customers rushed there from the very first day as well.
The combined daily sales of all three stores exceeded two thousand macarons.
As she flipped through the ledger, Yumia muttered,
“I knew they would sell... but to become this popular...”
Maryne burst into triumphant laughter.
“Ohohohohoho!! A huge success! We did it!!”
Maryne spun in circles as she celebrated.
Yumia gave a wry smile, but...
(I’ll follow this lady. Her business... is the real thing.)
That was what she thought.
