Production System
Meanwhile, Maryne had one more issue she needed to solve.
The production system.
All production of the skincare cosmetics was being handled solely by Maryne herself.
Using Production Magic.
When it came to macarons and pudding, she had taught pastry chefs the recipes and established a mass-production system, but…
Naturally, cosmetics could not be entrusted to pastry chefs.
(I’ll need to gather new craftsmen.)
Maryne began recruiting users of Production Magic in both the County Capital and the Secondary Capital.
People with Production Magic were not especially rare in this world.
Blacksmiths, pharmacists, toolmakers, and many other professions made use of Production Magic.
However, people with the precise level of skill necessary for cosmetic manufacturing were limited.
Maryne interviewed each applicant one by one, checked the precision of their techniques, and selected those with aptitude.
She also decided to hire craftsmen capable of producing beautiful glass bottles in addition to the cosmetics themselves.
Then she formed Contract Magic agreements with all of them to protect the secrecy of the manufacturing methods.
Once that was done, Maryne personally began teaching them the production process for “Flamis.”
The ratios of the ingredients.
How to infuse mana.
The image of the finished product.
Producing Flamis was incomparably more delicate than making macarons or pudding.
Even the slightest deviation in proportions directly affected the quality.
It was not a skill one could master in a day or two.
“The absorption rate of today’s lotion is slightly slow. Please make the image in your mind a little clearer when infusing mana.”
Maryne said.
“This serum is close to passing, but the viscosity is still just a little too high. Please break down the materials one more step more carefully.”
Every day, she inspected the products.
And for each one, she gave detailed feedback.
These were luxury goods sold for 200,000 dirin.
Compromise was unacceptable.
Of course, the craftsmen were serious as well.
They redid their work again and again.
However, the wall standing before cosmetic production was high.
They struggled to reach the standards Maryne demanded.
(Well, there’s no choice but to be patient.)
She could not hand everything over immediately.
For the time being, she would continue making the cosmetics herself while simultaneously training the craftsmen.
(Once the craftsmen’s skills improve, production will continue even without me. Until then, all I need to do is keep making them myself.)
It had been the same with macarons.
And with pudding as well.
Make it herself, teach others, establish the system, and finally hand everything off.
This time, it would simply take longer.
Once the craftsmen fully mastered the production of Flamis, Maryne would be able to devote herself completely to her next business venture.
Waiting for that day to come, Maryne continued standing in the workshop today as well.
