Considering Appraisal Eyes-kun
The next day.
I was completely back to normal. Maybe because I slept for a night? It felt like my mana had probably returned to normal too.
It was probably because I used Appraisal Eyes yesterday. My body had gotten really sluggish, and Mama seemed to think I’d fallen ill.
She used healing magic on me, and her concern made me feel much better, but my mana itself didn’t recover.
Mama had a serious look on her face too, so she might’ve noticed that healing magic didn’t fix it.
Since everyone was worried, they made me go to bed early, so I woke up earlier than usual this morning.
It was still a time when everyone else was asleep.
Until Marle came to wake me up, I decided to lie in bed and think things over.
Alright then.
I felt the same as always. My condition was normal too.
But still, pretty shocking, right? Appraisal Eyes-kun isn’t just for that kind of thing anymore, it actually works properly now. I’m seriously happy about that.
Papa and Mama think my appraisal ability is a gift from the Goddess of Ikaruda, since I told them about it when I was little. They do understand that someday it’ll become usable, but they probably think that’ll be after I turn five and receive the Goddess’s blessing. They don’t know that I can already use it.
There’s no way I can tell them. I mean, up until now it was that, you know, like “that thing shrinking” or “currently shriveling”… nobody wants to know that, right? I definitely don’t want anyone knowing I’ve been using appraisal for stuff like that, or that that’s all I could use it for.
But this time, because I strongly wished to use it, I actually could. Being able to use appraisal properly makes me really happy. From now on, I’m gonna use it a lot. The more I use it, the longer I might be able to keep it active. I just kind of get that feeling.
Then what about the other two the Goddess of Ikaruda mentioned, “Synthesis” and “Fusion”? How do I use those? Maybe if I strongly wish for it, I’ll be able to use them too?
Synthesis… if you mix two or more things together, then with the right materials or recipe, maybe you can create something new.
Fusion… two things becoming one, right? So that means… uhh… a man and a woman?
I can’t think of anything else. But if that’s it, then that’s just something everyone goes through when they grow up. Huh? Maybe that’s not what it means?
Anyway. First things first, I’ll get used to using appraisal. And synthesis, yeah, I’ll try that thing next time.

“Young Master Kaito, it’s morning. Are you awake?”
While I was thinking, it was already time to get up. Alright, time for the usual training, training.
“Marle, good morning. I’m awake.”
I changed into my new training clothes. I had them made recently. The old ones were worn out, and I’d grown, so they didn’t fit me anymore.
Training started with running, and then for some reason, I kept doing hopscotch over and over. Apparently it helps improve explosive power.
I had no idea it had that kind of effect.
The hopscotch had the circles spaced farther apart now, and their positions were different too, making it harder. It kind of felt like jumping training at this point. On top of that, someone would throw stones at me, so I had to dodge those while quickly stepping on every single circle without missing one.
Yeah… this is definitely not at a “game” level anymore.
I’d seen the knights’ hopscotch training before, and they were amazing. What made it incredible was that it wasn’t just one person throwing stones. Five people were throwing stones at full force, so everyone was desperate.
