A Proposal for How to Run the Tea Party
“Then, Mama, let’s wait until the rice bowls are ready first. I think it’d be good to introduce the tonjiru and miso after the bowls are done.”
“That sounds good. Let’s do that.”
“And also, it’s better to introduce the tonjiru and the garigarikuu steak on different days!”
“Oh my, why is that?”
“Well, women can’t eat a whole lot of food all at once, right?”
“That’s true. But couldn’t we just serve a little bit of both?”
“Hmm, serving small portions might be fine. But once they take a bite, it’s so good they’ll definitely want more. They’ll want more miso soup, right?”
“That’s true, as expected of Kai-kun♡”
“And, um, I think it’s better to serve the tonjiru and the garigarikuu steak separately. That way, people will wonder, ‘What’s coming out next?’ right? If every time there’s a new delicious dish, or something rare, they’ll start thinking, ‘What will they serve next?’ and the Marsh house will get lots of attention!”
“So every time we hold a tea party or a dinner gathering, we introduce something new… is that what you mean?”
As expected, Sebas. Quick to catch on.
“Yep, that’s exactly it.”
“Yes, that sounds wonderful. Kai-kun, you’re amazing.
(My son is a ge-ni-us!)”
Mama, what are you getting all dreamy about?

Huh? Marle and the maids too… are they reaching their limit? They’re trembling…
“Ahh, he’s too cute, and on top of that so intelligent. It’s sinful.”
“Really, he’s so cute, and yet he can talk just like an adult.”
“He’s too cute, and the things that come out of that adorable little mouth… isn’t it incredible?”

“Then, Sebas. Could you relay this to Downey?”
“Understood, Milady.”
“Sebas, I’ll be waiting for Papa’s reply, okay? I’m heading back to my room soon, so I’ll hear his answer there.”
“Very well. I will come to your room later, young master.”
Swoosh!
He was gone in an instant.
“Mama, look forward to the rice bowls, okay?”
“Kai-kun, I’ll be looking forward to it.”
“Mama, I’m heading off now.”
Gotta hurry or everyone’s gonna hit their limit.
“I understand. But before that, Kai-kun, Mama suddenly feels like hugging you.”
There it is, Mama’s sly move.
“Okay.”
I jumped into Mama’s chest.
Her soft chest. So fluffy.
And that sweet smell… the best.
“Alright, I’m going now.”
“Yes, then I’ll see you at dinner.”
“Okay.”
(My adorable son. He should still be so young, and yet that little child reads ahead and presents such precise ideas. Just how much knowledge is packed inside that little head, I wonder? Kai-kun, you’re still a child. You’re still just a child. Don’t grow up too fast, alright?
