My Ancestor Was a Mysterious Boy
I downed the fruit wine Sebas had prepared and let my thoughts drift to what lay ahead.
I’ll have to discuss what comes next with my wife.
Knock, knock. “It is I.”
It was a maid who opened the door, Larna. My wife’s personal maid. She had come with my wife from her family home.
“Master, Milady is still awake. Shall I inform her?”
“Yes. Please.”
She bowed deeply to me and headed toward my wife’s chambers.
Soon after, Ilze, who had begun serving my wife here in our household, came.
“Master, Milady is waiting.”
I entered my wife’s room and walked toward the sofa where she was relaxing. The moment Amana noticed me, she rose to her feet. I wrapped an arm around her waist and placed a light kiss upon her lips.
“Ahh… irresistible.”
Between kisses that were gradually deepening, just for an instant, only a fleeting moment, our lips parted, and Amana slipped her hand between us.
“Downey, no.”
“It’s not no, Amana! I can’t stop. You’re too delicious.”
While enclosing the hand she had pressed between us with my own, I lowered a kiss onto the back of her small, well-kept hand.
“Mm-hm, Downey, you came here to talk about Kai-kun, didn’t you?”
That upward glance. Amana, you’re a schemer.
When you look up at me like that, you’re far too adorable.
Those moist eyes beckoned me.
“Yes, well, that was the intention. However! My own son has grown quite lively, so I cannot have a proper conversation until I calm it down a bit.”
“Downey… just one more time.”
“Amana, you always indulge me. You are the finest wife. I am glad that you are my wife. Now then, let me savor you.”
“Kyaa.”
Lifted into my arms, Amana wrapped her arms around my neck. My wife was precious. Her scent was an aphrodisiac that drove me mad. Sweet nectar that lured me in.
After a time, I pressed a kiss to Amana’s lips, her breath mingling with mine.
“Downey, I love you.”
“Amana, I love you as well.”
I kissed her slightly damp forehead.
“Tell me… you really came to talk about Kai-kun today, didn’t you? What do you think? Do you believe his dream was real?”
“Yes… it was likely true. Did you know? When my grandfather’s great-grandfather was still a child, some three hundred years ago… there was said to have been a mysterious boy in that era. That boy possessed advanced knowledge unlike ours and went on to accomplish one new feat after another.”
“Do you know the Cecelinius River?”
“Yes, of course. It is an important river within your territory.”
“Indeed. The river is calm now, but in the past, whenever heavy rains came, the waters would swell, overflow, and flood. The surrounding villages suffered devastating damage. Each time, many lives were lost.”
“That story was part of the territory’s history I was taught when I married into your house.”
“Yes.”
“That boy claimed he had seen it in a dream and constructed embankments. He also carried out river dredging.”
“And he built spillways leading to retention basins. The boy said the Goddess had taught him in a dream. At first, no one took him seriously. But he drew diagrams on the ground and appealed to the people about the necessity of the work. In those days, there were no such things as diagrams. And yet, he drew them.”
