Are you going to kill me?
Chirp, chirp…
“Good morning, Madam.”
Feeling the sunlight on my cheeks and hearing the chirps of the birds, I opened my eyes while hearing a familiar voice. I wonder if I am still dreaming? If so, that’s quite a convenient dream. Because I was hearing the voice of the person I trusted.
When my eyes cleared out completely, I realized that I was lying in a bed with a canopy. I was in an unfamiliar room for me. This doesn’t seem like any of the rooms in the Capital where Noah lives, and it’s different from my Father’s residence.
Finding myself in an unfamiliar place, when I tried recalling what happened, I realized that I lost consciousness when the inspector who was inspecting the lumber business with me pressed a handkerchief against my face.
“Where is this?”
It seems that I was transported to some unknown place while I was unconscious. While I couldn’t form the picture, I heard a voice from my side.
“You are in a mansion located in the outskirts of Troyl’s capital city. It was given to Master by the King of this country.”
I was stunned by the face I saw outside the canopy bed. She was not wearing her usual maid clothes, but she was dressed as a noble lady.
“Anna…!”
“Long time no see, Madam.”
“Why are you here?”
“Yesterday, you were made unconscious by our colleagues by smelling a drug and carried all the way here.”
I didn’t feel any joy in meeting Anna again. She probably must have felt the same way. She didn’t seem happy to be seeing me.
“Send me back to Ligisia. Return me back to Noah.”
“Unfortunately, that wouldn’t be possible.”
“Why.”
When I looked at her for answers, she reluctantly explained.
“You are here because of Master Anton’s will.”
“That person’s? So what? I don’t want to see that person ever again.”
“That’s quite rude. Even though the two of us are a married couple.”
A male voice interjected from the side. There was another man outside the canopy beside Anna. My eyes met with his.
“Mister Anton. So you are still alive. I am quite surprised that you, who abandoned Noah and I, still remember what my face looks like.”
“You seem to have become quite cynical in the while I didn’t see you.”
“I was betrayed by the husband I relied on and the maid I trusted. I couldn’t keep acting as the heroine of a tragic story forever. I wouldn’t feel satisfied if I didn’t return the favor at least a little.”
“I remember you as an obedient woman, though? How troubling.”
“What are you planning?”
“I won’t do anything to you. However, I cannot simply return you now that you know my associates infiltrated that country.”
While saying such, he sat down on the bed and leaned forward.
“Are you nervous?”
“Are you going to kill me?”
Fufufu, he laughed.
