A Bright Topic
The day after the discovery of a new mana ore vein.
As originally planned, I, Elina, and Amira, accompanied by a few knights, headed to the Tryon family estate to report the results of our investigation.
Meanwhile, Gary and the knights under his command remained behind to conduct further investigation and ensure the safety of the surrounding area—thus, the next steps were decided.
"I'm so glad, Senior."
"Yeah, what a relief. It's all thanks to Amira."
"I-I didn't do that much..."
Just how many times have we had this exchange by now?
At this point, Amira's reaction is so predictable I could practically write the script myself, and yet I still can't help but say words of gratitude.
Honestly, it's only because she's such a humble person that she reacts like this, but if you asked me as a resident of the Abbot region, I’d say she deserves a medal. That's how impressive her contribution was. She really ought to have more confidence in herself.
And so, gazing at the receding silhouette of the Goethel Mines, we made our way back at a leisurely, peaceful pace.
Upon arriving at the Tryon estate, we immediately went to report to Lord Doyle—
—or we tried to.
"Ahahaha."
"Ehehe."
Lord Doyle was currently enjoying an elegant tea time in the courtyard with none other than Lady Alyssa of the McCreed family.
Their moment was being anxiously monitored from behind the walls by a group of restless servants.
"So this is why the mansion felt oddly understaffed..."
"Oh my, welcome back."
"Please keep it down, they're at a good part right now."
Even Brough and Marietta are here… Good grief.
After battling Jewel Lizards at the Goethel Mine (well, it was really just Amira who did the actual fighting), venturing cautiously into unexplored territory, and going through so much trouble just to return and report, this is what we walk into.
Still, I can’t exactly blame them for being a little giddy.
Lord Doyle and Lady Alyssa… They really do make a picturesque pair.
Actually, did Lady Alyssa come all the way to this remote territory just to see Lord Doyle?
If that's the case, then he’s clearly quite dear to her.
"Come to think of it, what brings all of you here?"
At this point, Marietta finally realized something was up.
This wasn't really a topic to whisper about sneakily, so I had to let her know we needed to speak to Lord Doyle directly.
"Actually, we discovered a new vein of mana ore at the mines."
"…! A new vein of mana ore was found?!"
Marietta's unusually loud voice—so unlike her normally composed self—caught the attention of both Lord Doyle and Lady Alyssa, who turned to look our way.
Was she always this scatterbrained?
