“You had a child here?”
I closed the door and listened to the voices in the hallway. I’ve been found.
“For now, please go to Master Hiiro’s room.”
Otoha said with a nonchalant voice. I heard the sound of them entering the workroom.
I couldn’t hear their voices anymore.
If that person is there when Ikumatsu returns from the outing, will he be happy? If that person is here during lunch, I’ll be alone.
The voices in the hallway have disappeared, and as I sat on the sofa absentmindedly, Otoha entered the room.
“Naru, have you drank water?”
I forgot.
I stood up and headed to the refrigerator. Cold water is delicious.
There was only an unopened bottle of water in the fridge. I couldn’t open a new bottle with one hand, so I gave up and poured tap water into a glass. As I was about to drink, Otoha stopped me.
“If you want cold water from the fridge, you should have said so.”
It’s okay; I don’t mind.
Cold water is the most delicious, but tap water isn’t bad either. As long as it won’t kill me, it’s fine. Lately, I’ve become too accustomed to delicious things. Like candies!
But Otoha discarded the water in the glass and opened the bottle in the fridge, pouring it into a cup for me.

“It’s delicious, isn’t it?”
Otoha smiled gently. She’s a beautiful person.
“If you want something, just ask. When I’m around, you can ask for anything. Anything at all.”
Ask for something?
I have nothing to ask for.
Otoha, who had been staring at my face, sighed softly and pulled me to the sofa. We sat side by side, and she held my right hand.
“Naru, there must be times when you feel that having only one hand is troublesome, right? In those moments, it’s okay to ask someone nearby for help. We will help you.”
Ask for help?
I don’t really understand.
I vaguely smiled and nodded, and she sighed again.
“I’m happy that you could drink delicious water.”
I understood that, so I nodded.
Hiiro entered the room.
“Otoha, Toshitane plans to have a meal with us. He probably won’t go back tonight, so also make preparations for dinner and a guest room for him.”
“I requested to have it done as I guided him to you. We can’t just kick out a drunk uncle, can we?”
“As expected of you, thanks. What about Naruhito?”
“It’s complicated, in various ways…”
“…? Naruhito, can you have your meal alone here today? We have a guest, and everyone has to be present.”
“Okay.”
Hiiro left the room, and while I was staring at the door, Otoha squeezed my right hand again.
“Well then, I will go too. I will come back to help you. I will also bring your meal, okay?”
“Yes.”
Eating alone, huh. This might be the first time since I was taken in.
