Walton’s True Strength
"Is that all you’ve got?"
I evaded the incoming lightning strikes and wind blades with only the minimum necessary movement.
"Wh-What?! Impossible!?"
In Walton’s ideal world, this battle was already over.
He had likely envisioned me losing spectacularly, utterly humiliated before the crowd.
Unfortunately for him, that was never going to happen.
Now, who would be the one groveling on the ground?
Even with his pathetic level of intelligence, he should have figured it out by now.
"My attacks… My attacks can’t miss! It’s the magic herbs! The magic herbs are to blame! They’re useless for not producing the outcome I imagined! Worthless things!"
Even now, he refused to admit his own lack of skill.
Claire’s work was flawless.
The only reason it failed was Walton’s inability to wield it properly.
… Well, judging by his attitude, he’d never acknowledge that in his lifetime.
I swiftly closed the distance between us, clenching my fist tightly.
"I’ll engrave the pain Claire endured into your body."
"Hiih!?"
He let out a short shriek, flailing his arms in some pathetic attempt to guard himself.
As if that ridiculous, floundering movement could stop me.
I drove my right fist straight into his face with all my strength.
My knuckles sank into his cheek, his body twisting as he spun through the air before crashing down.
That was a literal opening punch.
And damn, did it feel good.
Now, the real fight was about to begin.
I planned to gradually provoke Walton, expose his weakness, and utterly shred his pride.
I wouldn’t stop until he regretted everything he had done to Claire.
Just as I moved in to continue my assault—
Several academy staff members suddenly rushed onto the stage, gathering around the collapsed Walton.
Oh, come on.
They were seriously protecting him this blatantly?
Trying to buy him time was pointless.
After a brief moment, one of the staff members raised their arms in a large “X” gesture.
"Huh?"
No way…
A bad feeling welled up inside me, and unfortunately, it became reality.
"The match is over! The victor is Lake Gallard!"
Student Council President Tricia called my name as the winner.
… Wait. Hold on a second!?
I hadn’t even used thirty percent of my strength yet!
That was just a warm-up!
How weak could he possibly be!?
This time, I was the one left in disbelief.
