Cooperative Framework
A new spell to pinpoint the locations where mana ore lies hidden.
This… was a tricky condition.
After all, we didn’t have any magic users—not even anyone capable of using magic in the first place. Some noble families apparently have court magicians in their employ, but the Tryon family had never been involved in anything like that.
“A magician… is it.”
Even Lord Doyle couldn’t hide the bitter expression that crossed his face at that.
The lack of a magician was a sore spot for the Abbott region. As its lord, he surely felt that limitation more deeply than anyone.
Just when we’d thought a new hope had appeared… of course it wouldn’t be that easy.
The Abbott group slumped in disappointment.
Seeing this, however, Lord Donold extended a helping hand.
“As for the mana ore investigation—if you’re willing to go through with it, I’ll send one of our own magicians to assist you. They’re still young, but I guarantee their skill.”
“S-Such a generous offer!? That’s far more than we could ever ask—”
“Don’t worry about it. Mana ore mining is a vital industry for the kingdom. Offering our help is a natural step for a ducal house.”
“Lord Donold…”
Lord Doyle was so moved he was at a loss for words.
… But as Lord Donold said, there were only a few places in all of the Kingdom of Landval where mana ore could be mined. Including the Abbott region, there were just three mines in total. If one of those could be brought back to life, it would be a significant boost to national operations. That’s why he’d offered to help.
“A mana ore mine in the Abbott region… If it were to be revived, it would surely have a positive impact on the Tryon family as well.”
“Y-Yes! Please, allow us to pursue this!”
With Lady Alyssa’s support behind him, Lord Doyle made the decision to proceed with the mana ore investigation.
I’d refrained from saying anything, not wanting to dampen the mood… but truthfully, we hadn’t found any mana ore yet.
Still, if it led to the possibility of acquiring domestically mined mana ore—not just for Abbott, but for the entire Kingdom of Landval—it would carry enormous significance. So of course, I wanted it to work out.
Naturally, Lord Doyle wasn’t ignoring that fact either.
He might have looked excited when the offer of cooperation came, but his expression soon turned firm and resolute.
Still… a magician in the employ of the McCreed family, huh.
They’re apparently young, but powerful enough for Lord Donold to vouch for them.
I wonder what kind of person they are.
