Arrival at the Academy
At last, I had arrived at the Royal Academy.
The place was far beyond anything I had imagined in terms of size.
“Incredible... It’s like an entire town.”
“The comparison isn’t far off. With magic and sword training—especially combat simulations—we need vast amounts of space.”
That much I could understand.
Even the Knights Order and the Magic Corps required large-scale training grounds.
Still, to think that students were granted facilities on par with those used by official military units... That honestly took me by surprise. No wonder the graduates were so exceptional.
“It’s awfully quiet, though.”
“Classes are in session. All the students are in their classrooms.”
Ah—right, of course.
I guess I’m still not quite used to how academies work... I’ve never actually attended one myself, so I don’t have a clear image of what goes on day-to-day.
But just seeing the scale of the training grounds told me one thing for certain—these students undergo some seriously rigorous training.
One particular boy came to mind: Parker.
Even from my perspective, he had what it took to become a great knight—and more than anything, his personality was well-suited to this world.
He was driven, competitive, and had a strong sense of justice that detested unfairness.
He embodied the ideal image of a knight.
I’ve been teaching him swordsmanship and the mindset of a knight myself, but in the end, learning in the proper environment would be far more beneficial for him.
I have to find a way to get him into this place.
“First, we’ll have you meet with the Headmistress. This way, please.”
Guided by Heather, I entered one of the academy buildings.
The academy consisted of five separate buildings.
There was one in each cardinal direction—north, south, east, and west—divided by year level.
The one I entered, the central building, was primarily for staff. It contained faculty offices and other administrative rooms that students typically had no reason to visit.
Heather led me to a corner office on the top floor of this central building.
This, apparently, was the Headmistress’s office.
“Heather Calm, here with Sir Justin Foyle.”
“Enter.”
Heather knocked, announced us, and only after receiving permission did we step inside.
Right away, my eyes were drawn to a large desk, and in front of it stood a small-framed woman.
“Welcome. I’ve been expecting you.”
“Eh...?”
I was so stunned, I couldn’t even form words.
This person... is the Headmistress?
What do you think about this chapter?
