The Legendary Blacksmith
“The Legendary Blacksmith…”

“No way… that’s amazing.”

“My father said even when he offered a fortune, he couldn’t get him to take a commission.”

“Come on, your father’s a civil official. That was never gonna happen.”

… Those kinds of voices were coming from all over.
Ah, shoot. I messed up.

The weapons Galvano Ojisama forges are designed to draw out the user’s full potential. He sometimes spars with the client, sometimes even goes on adventures with them, analyzing their balance, habits, and weaknesses to craft a weapon that enhances their abilities to an astonishing degree.

No wonder fighters drool over his work.

… Though I never imagined even civil officials who never touch a weapon would want one.

Well, about that—His Majesty once went incognito (ha!) and, back when Otousama was dragged into starting out as an adventurer with Tirie-san, Galvano Ojisama also joined their party as their guardian. Because of that connection, he apparently forged one sword for them. That sword has since become a family treasure—no, a national treasure, really.

Naturally, once word got around that the blacksmith who made that national treasure could take commissions, he was swamped with orders. But apparently, Ojisama just said, “If you can face me in person and hold your ground in a proper match, I’ll consider it.”

Yep. Galvano Ojisama’s your typical dwarven “battlesmith.”
And not just that—he’s a high-ranking adventurer too.
(Which is probably why he was chosen as the King’s guardian in the first place.)

So yeah, there aren’t many nobles who could actually win against him…
Most people just gave up.

Even so, some apparently challenged him anyway—only to get absolutely destroyed and crawl away in defeat.

And that’s how he became known as the “Legendary Blacksmith” who almost never takes commissions.

… Though that’s all in the past. Nowadays, the younger generation just knows the title “Legendary Blacksmith” without knowing the story behind it—or so he himself says.

Come on, Ojisama, even hardened adventurers respect you. Don’t be so modest.

That said, he used to still forge weapons for knights and adventurers he personally deemed promising… but in recent years, he’s stopped taking those too. That’s when the “Legendary” part of his name really took on a life of its own.

… Um. In these past few years, he’s mostly been focused on making kitchenware.
Yes. Mine, specifically.

The “Legendary Blacksmith” has been dedicating himself to kitchen utensil production.
Yeah… that’s about how it is.
… This is kind of embarrassing.

“Man, I’d love to have the Legendary Blacksmith recognize me and forge my sword someday.”

“Haha…”

… This is really embarrassing.

“Wait, if you’re going to see the Legendary Blacksmith, can I come too?”

“Huh? Of course not. I’m just helping out the company we’re indebted to, and Galvano-dono merely said he might make me a weapon someday.”

When Sei said that, Adry-sama went “Aw, come on. Too bad,” and gave up easily enough—but the crowd around us only grew louder.

“He’s got even a verbal promise from the Legendary Blacksmith? That’s insane!”

“So that means he must be seriously skilled, huh…”

Every eye in the room turned sharp and focused on Sei.

Not just the knight course students—even the ones in the civil course were eyeing him up like they were appraising his worth.

Anyone who possesses a weapon made by Galvano Ojisama is automatically considered a top-tier fighter, so I guess they’re all thinking they want to recruit him.

Or maybe some are already plotting to buy that weapon off him by force.

“Then, if you ever get the chance to meet the Legendary Blacksmith, mind if I tag along?”

“I don’t know when that’ll happen, so no.”

“Aw, don’t be like that! Oh! How about during the long break—let’s go together!”

“I’ll be busy helping with the trading company, so no.”

“Ehh… Oh! But wait—Miss Cristea, the workshop’s in your territory, right?”

“Eh? Well, yes…”

“Then how about I visit your lands during the long vacation?”

“… Huh?”

Excuse me, what did you just say?

“W–What are you saying! Of course not!”

“Aw, come on! We might not even find the place without Miss Cristea guiding us. Oh, and didn’t Ronnie say he wanted to visit that magic tool shop in her territory too? If we all go together, it’ll be fun!”

Oh no, here comes the extrovert logic!
I was an introvert even in my previous life—we are not compatible!
Even Mariel-chan, who usually just giggles “fufufu…” quietly, froze with a sharp gasp!

“… I’m not interested in weapons, but I was thinking of visiting Master Owen’s magic tool shop.”

Eek! Now Ronnie-sama’s joining in too?!

“When shall we go? This weekend works for me. No, wait—I need more time to prepare questions about the magic tools I’m working on… then perhaps…”

Ronnie-sama was already closing in—help!

“U-Um, I have plans this weekend as well, so perhaps we could discuss it another time.”

“I see… then I’ll prepare everything in advance.”

“Haha…”

Yeah, about that… this weekend, I’m already going to meet Owen-san.
But if I said that, they’d definitely insist on coming along—so I’m keeping that to myself!

Ah yes, the classic can't hear "no" kind of super extroverts. I would say the sacred beasts would be better at stopping this, but they might also not care (since the trouble is little in their eyes, and the main targets are other people).
Thanks for the chapter! Awesome translation! May God bless you!
