Grade-B Fish Fishing
★★★★★
If you want good fish, this is the place.
The old man is seriously a master.

“How… how is it?”

The gruff-looking old man asked nervously for some reason.
He had a towel wrapped around his head and had worked hard to prepare the fish I’d caught.

I left the cooking method to him, and now the table was lined with a variety of dishes: sashimi, grilled, fried, steamed, boiled, marinated—every kind of preparation for what looked like bluefin tuna.
Though technically, the fish’s real name is Perlucchama.

First, I dipped the sashimi into something like soy sauce. The taste was slightly different from regular tuna, but the rich umami filled my mouth.
I couldn’t help giving him a big thumbs up.

“This is amazing, old man.”

“... Ahh, thank goodness. I’m so relieved…”

He suddenly started tearing up. Why is he getting all emotional!?
All I did was ask him to cook it, right!?

“You did it, old man!”

“Knew you could!”

“Ahh… I didn’t think I still had room to grow…”

Some folks who seemed like staff showed up, gave him a pat on the shoulder, and disappeared back into the kitchen.
What on earth happened here?
I don’t know, but seeing this tight-knit crew gave me the warm fuzzies.

“Huh? Aren’t you two eating?”

When I looked up, I saw Milfie, ears twitching and chest bouncing, frozen in place.
Even Aqua, sitting next to her, had gone still.
Even with a neutral expression, blonde elf girls sure are cute.

“It—it’s too delicious, meowaa!? So this is what real fish dishes taste like!?”

“... I’m shocked. I never imagined something so fresh and delicious.”

Ah. They were just overwhelmed.
It’s definitely tastier than yesterday’s meal. The old man’s skills must be top-tier.

“Haha, glad you liked it.”

“Tabito, this one’s delicious too. Oh, and this one.”

“Eat as much as you want, Milfie.”

munch munch munch munch munch munch

Aqua was silently chewing.
She might be quiet, but it looks like she really enjoys eating.

“Alright, time to eat our fill!”

“Phew, I’m stuffed.”

“Can’t eat another bite, meow~”

“It was truly delicious.”

In the end, we polished off everything he’d prepared.
We even sold the leftover parts back to the shop, so we ended up making a profit.

I never thought the guide map would be useful for fishing too.
But now that I think about it, it is basically a high-grade sonar.

What should I do?
I thought I was Tabito the Adventurer… but Tabito the Fishing Master might not be bad either.

“I can’t wait to see Tia’s country! I wanna eat lots of fish!”

Milfie’s words pierced right through me.
I’ll keep my promise to Tia!

By the way, we already booked the ship.
It departs in the afternoon, so we finished up some shopping.
We already bought most essentials in the royal capital, but there were plenty of port-town exclusives—fish-shaped cookies and handy cooking tools—so I stuffed them into my travel bag.

“That bag of yours is really convenient.”

“Yeah. But Aqua, maybe you could learn it someday too? This space magic or whatever?”

She shook her head hard.

“It’s way more complicated than you think, Tabito. So please, make sure you don’t lose that bag.”

“Really? Even though it just looks like a normal bag…”

Apparently it’s a lot more impressive than it seems. I suddenly got curious.

“Say, if I tried to sell this… how much would it go for?”

“... It’s priceless. A bag that grows with you—every nation would want one.”

Its capacity increases as my level rises. Yeah, definitely not standard issue.
Now I’m wondering what kind of stuff I used to carry before I lost my memory.

“But be careful, Tabito. Tools that are too powerful… can lead to people killing each other, meow.”

Milfie’s final words were… honestly a little scary.

The ship’s departure time arrived. It was bigger than I expected.
Shaped like a galley and made of wood, but the sail had magic symbols on it.

“There’s a spell to redirect wind inscribed on the sail. I think that’s how they guide its direction.”

“I see. You really know your stuff, Aqua.”

“... Compliments won’t get you anything.”

She looked a little shy saying that.
Yeah, her modesty is a nice contrast to Milfie’s energy.

Still, unlike the world I came from, there weren’t any cozy rooms.
Basically, you either kill time on deck or nap wherever there’s space.

They say it’ll take about two days to reach Tia’s kingdom.
This is what traveling’s all about.
Taking it slow, gaining new experiences—sharing good times, hard times, boredom, and excitement with everyone.

Apparently, Tia’s kingdom is one of the world’s top water cities.
I wonder how she’s doing.

“Still, is it really true? We’re going to meet Princess Eltia?”

“Yeah, though it’s more of a verbal promise. If she’s too busy, it might not happen.”

I’d already told Aqua about that night.
What surprised me was that, according to her, Tia is world-famous as an exemplary princess.
Graceful, beautiful, adorable and politically capable, she said.
… Which is probably why she’s burdened with a lot.

“Yaaawn… I’m gonna take a nap, meowaa…”

With that, Milfie lay down right on the deck and fell asleep in seconds.
That ability of hers is seriously amazing.

“... Hehe.”

Aqua smiled gently at the sight.
We haven’t known each other long, but she’s really calming to be around.

We must’ve been close once.

“Oh yeah, Aqua.”

“Yes?”

“They say Tia’s country has all sorts of rare water spellbooks. Let’s try to find some together.”

“... Are you sure?”

“Discovering cool stuff is what traveling’s all about. Of course I’m sure.”

“... I’m happy.”

Yeah.
Maybe I’ll ask Aqua to help write the next guide map.
I still don’t know much about magic, and Milfie’s not really the type to explain it.

Tia’s kingdom—I can’t wait!
