Craft Level Up
By building the public bathhouse, I leveled up.

Skill: [Craft] Level 1 → Level 2

Expanded material selection slots.
Expanded crafting range.

“It actually leveled up…”

With this, I should be able to make even more things. I decided to try it right away.

First, I needed to pick materials.
This time, I wanted to test if I could make things other than just wooden items.

“Alright, let’s try making something out of metal…”

I set to work.
First attempt: an iron knife.
I fixed the image in my mind and started crafting, concentrating for a while.

Then—
“Done.”

I managed to finish it successfully.
I immediately appraised it:

[Iron Sword]

Durability: 95/100
Attack Power: +80

Description: A sword made of iron. Excellent sharpness.

“Whoa!!”

I was surprised, but I calmed down and analyzed it.

“If I can make weapons, that must mean I can also make armor.”

Imagining that, I moved on to the next step.

“Next, let’s try making clothes…”

I started crafting again.

“Alright, done.”

I muttered, looking at the pile of materials I’d received from the villagers as thanks.

“Hm… I made an iron sword, so maybe I should try making armor. Not for me though, I can’t fight…”

That’s when an idea hit me.
What if Shiraishi Ayane’s skill [Cosplay] became stronger when she wore armor?

I already knew her size.
This could actually be useful for her in the future.

Not that I liked her, or worried about her—purely curiosity, of course.

And so, I started making armor for Shiraishi-san without asking.

I began simple.

“First, the base…”

I muttered as I started working.
I used an old torso piece as the foundation, then layered cloth over it.
Next, I worked on the pauldrons and arm guards.
Finally, I attached the chest plate.

When it was done, I checked it in the mirror.

“Yeah, that’ll do.”

Satisfied, I stowed it in the closet.
(Alright… what should I make next?)

Just then, I heard the door open.
Shiraishi-san stood there.

“Ah, Kurose. You’re here.”

She walked toward me.

“What’s up?” I asked.
She smiled brightly.

“No reason. I was bored, so I came to hang out.”

“I see.”

I said, taking a seat.

“What were you doing?”

She asked.
I decided to be honest.

“I’ve just been making random things as a hobby.”

She tilted her head curiously.

“Like what?”

“Like this. I just finished it—want to see?”

I pulled out the armor I’d just made for her and held it out.

“This is… for me to wear?”

“Yeah. If you don’t mind, try it on.”

She examined it carefully, clearly intrigued. After a while, she said:

“This is amazing! Really detailed. But why did you suddenly decide to make armor?”

I answered truthfully:

“No real reason. I just felt like trying.”

She looked surprised, then suddenly smiled and hugged me.
I froze, flustered, but managed to stay calm.

“Wha—h-hey, don’t just suddenly hug me!”

“Nope~!”

“Come on, let go!”

She held on for a while, but finally released me, looking satisfied.

“Okay, I’ll try it on then.”

As she began to change, I thought to myself, (Well… whatever.)

A little while later—

“All done!”

Her voice made me turn around.
There she stood, clad in armor.

“Looks good on you.”
“Really? Yay!”
“Yeah…”

Then she grinned.

“Hey, Kurose. Can I ask you something?”

“What is it?”

“Fight me!”

“… What?”

She ignored my bewilderment and pressed on.

“See, I haven’t really mastered the true power of my Cosplay skill yet.”

“The true power?”

“Yep! When I wear armor or costumes, I can use that outfit’s abilities and traits.”

“Oh?”

She explained further:

Knight’s armor = defense boost.
Mage’s robe = reduced mana consumption.
And so on.

“That’s why, if we make lots of costumes now, they’ll be super useful later.”

Hearing that, I nodded.

“That’s actually a smart idea. I’ll help.”

“Really!? Yay, thank you!”

Again she hugged me, and again I fought to stay calm.

“Okay, okay, just let go for now.”

She finally released me, and together we set to work making all sorts of armor.
The more we made, the more fun it became, and before long it was already midnight.

“Whoa… it’s this late already?”

I said, glancing out the window.

“Yeah… and we have to get up early tomorrow. Let’s stop here.”

I agreed, and we wrapped up for the night.

The next morning—

“I’m heading out~”

“Take care, and be safe!”

I watched her leave for work and thought to myself:

Everything we made yesterday turned out great.
But just making things for fun isn’t enough.

If I ever want these to be treated as real products, I’ll need to think harder—
About the right shapes, the right level of performance… all of it.

As I pondered, one idea came to me:
A workshop.

If I built a proper workshop, I could make higher-quality items.

Once decided, I didn’t hesitate.
I set out to build a workshop of my own.
