A Sweet Week with My Principal Wife ~Eternal Vows Spun in the Forest Love Nest~
By the time the village’s major projects—the initial planning of the Forest’s Blessing Purification System and the construction of housing for the refugees—had reached a stopping point, Akio and Sylvia, with the warm support of the other wives and children, found themselves at last with time to spend together, just the two of them. It was Ayane who declared, “This is Akio-sama and Sylvia-sama’s belated honeymoon!” while Kina spread the word all through the village: “Don’t you dare interrupt Hubby and the Principal Wife!” Thus, their time off became officially recognized.
In a private chamber deep within the Central Hall—prepared for Akio and Sylvia alone, a place truly worthy of being called a “love nest”—their special week began.
On the morning of the first day, Sylvia awoke in Akio’s arms. The soft light pouring through the window illuminated his sleeping face, and she gazed at that peaceful expression with deep affection. The nights of tender intimacy they had shared over the past several days had bound their souls together more strongly than words ever could, filling Sylvia’s heart to the brim. That sense of fulfillment naturally showed in her expression and gestures, and in the gaze she turned toward Akio was now reflected an even deeper love, trust, and the unmistakable confidence of a wife.
During the days, they passed the time in gentle conversation, preparing meals together, or with Sylvia brewing special herbal tea for Akio alone. While Akio was in the study drawing village plans, Sylvia would quietly embrace him from behind, resting her cheek on his shoulder. Without surprise, Akio welcomed her warmth and tenderly clasped her hand in return. Such natural gestures of affection had increased greatly over these few days.
The highlight came on the afternoon of the third day. In the garden of the Central Hall, Akio was discussing a prototype farming tool with Alto when Sylvia, having finished tending the herb garden, happened to pass by. She leaned in and, with a gentle “Thank you for your hard work, Akio,” placed a soft kiss on his cheek. Alto, of course, was stunned for a moment, as were Ayane and Kenta who happened to be passing by, but their surprise quickly softened into warm smiles at the sweet scene before them. Akio blushed crimson with embarrassment, but Sylvia only smiled mischievously. It was a display of open affection in front of others that would have been unimaginable for them in the past.
Kina laughed and teased, “Well now, Hubby and the Principal Wife sure know how to show off!” Leonora remarked with admiration, “… The depth of a married couple’s affection can indeed give people strength.” Celestina beamed, “Seeing you two so happy truly fills me with joy.” As for Ayane, she watched the pair with cheeks faintly flushed, dazzled by their bond, and seemed to ponder her own future with dreamy longing.
They spoke beneath the Tree of Life, leaned close together on moonlit nights out on the balcony, and in the Silvermoon Wood hot spring, reserved for their use alone, they rested in the steamy warmth, soothing their daily weariness while feeling the closeness of one another’s skin (all within modest bounds). For that entire week, they simply sought each other, cherished each other, spoke with each other, and loved each other. Words were unnecessary—their souls were in communion. It was, in every sense, an “intensely rich” time.
At the end of the week, once more in the “love nest” bedchamber—
“Sylvia… these past days have been true happiness,” Akio murmured, stroking her silver hair as she lay beside him.
“Yes, Akio… I feel the same. I give thanks with all my heart for this miracle of living at your side,” Sylvia whispered, nestling her face against his chest and listening to his strong heartbeat. “From now on, always… I’ll be by your side.”
“Yeah, for all eternity.”
Having shared this special week, the bond between Akio and Sylvia was now unshakable, bound by a love both deep and fervent. That change radiated not only between the two of them, but also cast a warm, hopeful light upon their entire family and the whole village.
Tomorrow, they would return again to their everyday roles—as village chief and as lady wife. But within their hearts would remain forever the sweet, intense memory of that week, and their steadfast love for one another, eternally engraved.
