Night. Dirkhert’s bedtime has arrived.
Usually, he would get to the bed himself and say goodnight, but. The situation was a little odd today.
He stands in front of the bed, while tightly holding Chocola and bashfully says.
“Dirk-sama……? It’s time to sleep.”
“…… Yes.”
Although he replies to Meluerina’s words, there’s no indication of him moving.
“Heave, ho.”
Volsung lifts up Dirkhert and takes him to the bed. He intended to lull Dirkhert to sleep, but Dirkhert grabs Volsung’s clothes and doesn’t release.
Meluerina and Volsung exchange glances and tilt their heads at this different situation.
The two stoop down to match Dirkhert’s eyes and inquire.
“What’s the matter?”

He looked like he wanted to reply to Meluerina’s answer, but his answer got stuck in his throat and is not coming out.

“You see, Lia said that she always sleeps together with her Papa.”
With those words alone, the two understood what the little Maou-sama wanted to say and smiles floated on their faces.
But, they can’t say anything here. It’s important for Dirkhert to say those words himself.
“Dirk you see, doesn’t have father nor mother, but Dirk has Melu and Vol.”
“That’s right.”
“We will always be with Dirk-sama.”
“Yeah. Therefore, instead of father and mother, Melu and Vol, umm, therefore……”
They who are simply his attendants, being a replacement for parents made them really happy and somehow embarrassed. With smiles on their faces, they grasp Dirk’s small hands.
“Dirk wants to sleep together with Melu and Vol!”
What a sweet wish as expected.
Because he always slept alone in the castle, the thought of sleeping together with someone else probably didn’t even cross his mind. But, after meeting Lilia, and talking about various things, he must have learned about “family.”
This is surely the little Maou-sama’s desire for “family.”
It became clear that he relies on them not only as attendants but even as his foster parents.
“Of course, it’s greatly appreciated.”
“Shall we three sleep together?”
Hearing Meluerina’s and Volsung’s answer, Dirkhert somewhat bashfully covers his face.
In a small voice “Thank you” he whispered.
